Make A Foam Rubber Grip For Your SE Controller

by crazydave

grip_step01.jpgMy SE controller cramps my hand up, and I wanted a longer handle. So here’s what I did, I picked up some of this Crayola Model Magic stuff from the grocery store. It’s a modeling compound that dries into foam rubber.

I used two of the individual packs that come inside. I smashed and formed it around the base of the controller, and then formed the handle part. After I had it the way I wanted, I took an exacto knife and trimmed the edge to clear the important stuff, also to give it a nice straight edge.

I didn’t have to glue it (yet). I squished about 3/4 of an inch around the bottom to hold it. Then I had to cut it away on the front and where the trigger is, and I think there is about 1/4 of an inch left in those areas.

It’s plenty durable for regular use, but I’m afraid one good smack will knock it off. We’ll see.

I colored it with a marker, and it looks good, and isn’t coming off on my hand at all.
