I thought it would be a good idea ( actually i think ph2t mentioned it first) to have a thread with just pics of different "brands" pcb's and the proper way to mosfet mod then for reference. If you guys could please just post the pics/diagrams of "proven" methods and the "brand" its from i think it would be a great resource for fellow bitpimp members. And if not then

I was going to put something together. Just hadn't got around to it.

So far I just have the standard bit PCB which covers Microsizers sport and pro's, Cannonballs, Cyclonas, Shens, LXX bosters, and non boosters.

Here's that:

Super Bits Char-Gs are already strong out of the box, and micro_amps says FETs make no improvement. He has yet to find a fix, so I see no need to pursue that, until I know it can be done.

The info for the original Zip Zap is on the German site, and I could probably figure it out relativly quick, but I prefer to just ditch the ZZ's larger PCB, and put a clone board in there to make room for a second battery, and keep it under the PCB cover.

The Thunder Charger looks like the MS board, but is actually entirely backasswards, but I got it figured. Here's that:

The Micro Speed is slightly different still, and I have a Mini Cooper clone that Havok sent me to do, that has the same layout. I have it in my head, but need to wait until my FETs get here before I can test it. I'll have this with in a week.

Then there's ZZ SE...
It's possible to do, and it does improve performance, but it does not act like a FETed car. The theory is that the FETs are not being hit with enough voltage to turn them on all the way. micro_amps has figured it out, but he's not sharing his info, so we're having to fumble thrlough it ourselves. You can follow the progress on that here:

...and I think that about covers all my info.

I edited the above post and added pics.

For the forward only, that's why I added the color code to the chart. Just do the ones in red. I forget which are which on the Thunder Charger, because the PCB is backwards, and then the controller works backwards. I have some wired for MS controllers, and some for Thunder Charger/ZZ controllers, so I just get confused.

dave,
what is that square "ring"? is that some sort antenna?
If so what are the benifits if having it and how do i make it?

That's the antenna that comes on Thunder Chargers. It's beneficial in terms of looks only, 'cause it stays inside the body, but I don't think reception as good with it. Thunder Chargers get their range from the controller.

Hey crazydave, I have tried to fet mod 2 TCs and SuperFly has tried 1 based on your diagram. All 3 cars have the same problem... fetted in reverse, and forward is totally dead. Any ideas what we're screwin' up?

Sorry man, don't hate me, but... my mistake, you're not screwing anything up. That's what I get for trying to do things from memory.

I drew the jumper to the wrong pin, just move it over and you should be fine.

I updated my chart, so if it's not fixed above, hit your 'refresh' button on your browser, and that should fix it.

That was the ticket... thanks for the update. Man, those take to FETs really well... freakin' torque to spare.

Yes, it is insane, yes, oh yes it is.

I do that with Zip Zap chassis, I did up a Thunder Charger like that for Havok, with the second cell hangin' out the back window, and that thing was instant wheelies. It rarely uses the front tires.

So did you get that Zip Zap chassis I sent you, or are you torturing some poor bit?
