Looks like a HiSteer system won't work (easily)

Xmod evo truck + lift kit = excessive bumpsteer.

Why does it happen? A-arms drooped too low, bottom of tire comes outward as tire stuffs upward, upper link stays at same location. Because steering link is at a fixed location, the movement of the tire laterally outward results in a toe-out of the tire going up.

How could that be helped? If the steering linkage was moved from stock position on the knuckles to a higher location on the knuckles, it would really reduce (not eliminate) the effect of bumpsteer, as the outward movement of tire in relation to steering link would be less.

Uh, yeah...How? It would be possible to flip the front knuckles upside down and move to other side which would put your steering attach about 3/8" higher than stock. Then chop on a steering linkage, stack some spacers into it, and glue it all back up. Then you should be able to just reattach everything, and see if there are any other bind points.

Unfortunately, Radiohack design didn't quite allow for this. On the stock knuckles, the mounting for the screw for bearing retainer cap interferes with the lower shock mount on the A-arm.

IF someone had the fabrication facilities to make new front knuckles that were set up to use the REAR style bearing retainer caps instead of the fronts, it should fix the clearance problem and Xmod Hi-Steer would be within reach.

I don't have the fabrication tools to make a whole new set of knuckles, but it looks like anybody with a spare set of Evo knuckles and some machineable epoxy should be able to make it work. Anybody have a parts rig that might be willing to either give it a shot? Or willing to give up a pair of knuckles and a steering linkage?
