Hot Wheels Tunerz RC bit

Post by HirotoR34 »

I started this morning painting my daughter's dresser. While in her room, I came across this Hot Wheels Tunerz diecast car. I thought to myself, would'nt this make a cool RC? So while out getting painting supplies, I stopped by target and picked up a new MS sport.
I decided to take a break from painting and started my project by slicing the chassis in half and added about 3/4 of an inch. Because the wheels are so big, I had to shave a lot of the chassis off. I noticed in the front It was structurally weak so I made chassis braces for the top and the bottom. I then wired every thing up for the triple cell conversion. Finally I adapted the wheels to the bit axles. The whole project took about four and a half hours. I have a lot of pics and specs that I'll post later.

That's awesome! I've looked at those HW Tuners and figured it would be to much trouble, but you did it! How does it drive? Are those tires soft enough to grip?

I have'nt driven it completed yet, I tested the rear axle with a test chassis and it grips very well. (it flipped off the line)

I also bought an Xmod light kit that I have yet to wire up in the body. I'm kinda tired and need sleep......... :tired:

Yeah I also passed on that project because it looked like too much work, but 4 hours, damn, that not bad. Takes me that long to swap the wheels.

Jesus H. (for Hiroto) Christ, it's beautiful. The work you've done on the chassis looks awesome as usual.

I ended up having to completely break it all back down and re-wire everything (plus two off the cells were bad). I put two new ones in and wired it all up. It has a little more left but this is much cleaner.

i had a glue abuser direct my attention to this post-

that is beautiful.

it pains me however, seeing such excellence, attention to detail, and your doing so in little time.

it serves as a guarentee that none of my "hacks" will desecrate these forums.

well done

I had to drill out the rivets very carefully. I've been meaning to do a full tutorial on the project, but because I work almost around the clock, I haven't had much time.

I'll try to get one up soon.

None of them fit, you have to modify your bits' chassis.
