Import Tuner Celica
I was at TRU today and came across this. It is a 1:32 scale Celica. There was also a EVO and Supra there. The detail on the body is pretty good and it is very light plastic. So I decided to see if I could get a xmod chassis to fit.
On the lowest setting the chassis will fit and I chopped down a CF driveshaft to fit. I also think a IW02 cb and so Li-ions will go into her.

They are priced at $10.00 man. Not bad at all for a nice body and 2 130 motors. The tires also fit the xmod wheels and with a little modding the rims might fit as well.
Here is a pic from the package. All 4 in the collection.

I just got finished putting together the chassis I am using for now. I will be getting some alloy stuff (wheels, cups, knuckles, and such) and build one of ph2ts motors. It has stacked fets, 18awg wires, steering mod, and bent tierod. All on a Zero Products X-Frame Pro Stock chassis.

Yeah The RX-8 will look pretty pimp. I might go and pick up the other 3.
I finally got the mounts made and added some more stickers. Also I changed the wheels since the black on black was a little too much for my taste.

You can see some pics of the mounts in my gallery here.
I am going to pick up the other bodies tomorrow. The EVO is one I am looking forward to seeing.

The turning radius might be slighty smaller (if it is it is very little). I haven't noticed anymore twitching then what little it had before.Maxximum Attack wrote:It may also make the car's steering more twitchy. Let us know what you findcrazydave wrote:I kinda prefered the black on black...![]()
Anyways, I love that car, I'm gonna try to find me one of them. I like the idea of the shorter wheelbase. I figure it'll help with the turning radius.
I went to get some more today and all I could find was the EVO. Someone bought the last RX-8 and Supra since my last visit.
Working on mounts for it as we speak.

Here is is mounted to the chassis. It looks pretty good but I don't think the detail is as good as the Celica. Out of all of them the EVO is the least detailed. Still cool none the less. Also both has small holes to install headlight and taillight LEDs.

A little update for those interested in these. Wal-mart is now selling the same cars under a different label (SuperDrift) and the carry the 4 (in different colors) and 2 more (a WRX and a 350Z). I picked up a RX8 the other night and finally got around to modding it to fit on the chassis.

I also painted and decaled up the EVO for a COTM contest over at xmodrc. I am hoping to win since the prize is a WRX Xmods starter kit. Wish me luck pimps.....
