Switching wires was a good idea, so I'd like to thank you all, especially SuperFly.
Other.
My cars performs sluggish in aspect of radio range. I can drive it for 1.5 metres away from me, when it loses signal. Even my low-quality shen can go 5 metres when it starts to cut-out.
So then what is there to do? I've already pulled my antenna the highest and longest possible, without significant results.

Usually that is a result of low battery power from the controller. If the run time isn't that great, that is another indication of weak batteries.
Is it a 27mhz? I have the same problem with those, but if you go to a differant area, does it have increased range? 27 mht is notorious for radio interferances.

Yeah, and you can get better range by replacing the stock antenna on the truck with a piece of insulated solid core copper wire about twice as long as the stock one.
Also, depending on how old your monster truck is (or how long you may have had the controller sitting around with batteries in it), I've noticed the ZZMT controllers are extremely likely to get contact corrosion on the inside. If you have any other 27 mhz controller laying around, you might try it just to see if it has better range.
