I thought these were so cool, I never even considered the modifications that could be done.ibjamn wrote:Getting back on topic......
Maybe it's my frustration at this minute, but these are 60 mm long. Do you know that that's the length of a standard zip? Maybe we all can have offroad bits
I'm thinking about how good a F350 off of a ZZMT would look on one of those designed to look like tamiya 4wd with the wide wheels and tires. For that matter, a Herbie Zip.

i got a grasshoppr sent to me from osaka.
drove nicely, the suspension is great and could really get over a lot of obsticles.
the clearance on them is awesome for a stock micro car and the motor is pretty beefy.
pity the rechargable battery in it died in less than a week
it never got air. it was considerably underpowered for its size and weight. knowing how much punch the micro helicopters have in thier tiny lipos the micro buggies could have been godly but instead they are kinda failiures.
mine could have just been a dud and i will probably buy another to make sure im not all wrong. they sure do have a lot of potential or modding (lipos as mentioned, a propo board and steering) but then again the costof those mods could buy a micro-t easy.
good thing the motor is compatible with q-steers, whack that blue ended beast in with some bit high speed gears (just the middle one not the axle) and youve got a seriously fast q-steer.
if you have a track to race on give the q-steers a go. ive had one out of 9 be a dud out of the box (bad steering) and the one and only buggy was a stinker.

Could you throw some pics up? I really want to see (or be told) what the steering mechanics look like. I thought they were magnetic, but in those TomyTakara pics, I can't really tell.
I also wanted to see a Zip body next to , or on that chassis to see the wheelbase and how far out the wheels protrude from under the body.

That 3-wheeler looked sweet!!
Anybody else thinking Reliant Robin or Reliant Regal Supervan? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliant_Robin
Then build up an old Mini in Yellow with a Black hood... Anybody know what theme I've got here?
Buggies are single cell correct?
Qsteer, buggys, and Bits all use the same motors and gears don't they?
sidewinder, Lube. Lots of it.

i took off the lid and compared it with a bcg gloria body and while it looked kinda mean the wheel arches dont meet up at all. i did paint a black and red zip zap supra once and it was bigger than a bcg but i dunno if it will fit.
steering mechanics are magnetic indeed.
as it was a gift from japan, even tho its dead i wont be selling it. sorry sidewinda.
i need to not be lazy and take pics. but i feel oh so lazy right now.
EDIT:
theres a pic with the lid off over at ausmicro now.
