General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

I was thinking about a group buy, but the color/body style/frequency was too specific to get exactly what I want, so I may just grit my teeth and wait to find these in the toy store. The 'packages' generally had one or two of what i would want. I want the orange Camaro, black Charger and green Cuda, all in 49mhz. You can keep the Mustangs, except maybe the gold one.

Whazz up Pimps!

Just got mine in the mail today! :-D
Purple '70 Cuda, 49 MHz

Pros:
- beautiful Muscle Machine styling
- awesome detail (exhust & susp. springs on the chassis bottom!)
- great looking controller (color coordinated with the car!)
- removable charger/battery case (just like the NASCAR Motorworks)
- nice long retractable antenna (14" compared to 9.5" on a Super Bit)

Cons:
- mine has very bad range (not quite 2 feet! )
- hard rubber tires (lots of wheel spin on hard surfaces)
- big turn radius (hard tires don't help here)

Other than the range problem, these things are NICE! Hopefully they're not all like mine (2ft range!). Maybe mine slipped through quailty control.... :???:

Don't sound too good man.
Are the bodies plastic or diecast?
If they're plastic did they keep the detail of the diecasts?

Plastic. Just looking, I don't think you could tell the difference between the RC and the diecast, except for the antenna.

I got mine off eBay. Seller's ID: ccamarobob . Extremely fast shipping. I think it took no more than 3 days. $18 w/o shipping.
I was browsing the Zip Zap page and there it was.... the only one I found. :???:

Speed's OK, I probably say between a 2.6 and a 3.0
Hard to tell with mine, it goes out of range in no time.

OK, I had to open the car up. Looking for range!!! :(

Well, I couldn't tell if there were any crip caps but.....

What I found:
- 110mAH batt
- a second motor is used for steering! That's right no magnet! It sits right down the middle of the chassis, next to the batt. It's hard wired. I think there's possiblities for proportional steering.... anyone up to it? 8)
- The drive motor is under a plastic shield. I had a hard time trying to remove it. I left it alone since I didn't want to screw it up by breaking something (it's my only one!)! I'm going to assume it's also hardwired.

Sorry I don't have a digital cam... Otherwise you'd be looking at pics instead of reading about it!

Opened up the controller too. Nothing special here.
I found out why I didnt' have any range.... broken antenna wire on the inside! WOO HOO! Easy fix! :D
