General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

slot car conversion??

Post by custombitbodys »

so how much voltage would it take to make a slot car work like a bit? what kinda battery do you need to strap one of those little things! anyone know? i think if you could somehow mod a slot car to turn with the use of a front from a bit you would have a screamer, provided you could get enough power to the engine. :?:

I'm not too knowledgable on slot cars, but I would think you'd need a strong steering mechanism to compensate for the cars weight?

yea, and maybe some tires made out of that wacky wall walker stuff that will just stick to the ground like theres no tomorow... i guess the key would be how big of a battery.. a regular slot car dosent weigh much more than a car with a dual batt mod. i will have to pull out the scale tonite!

Slot cars typically use 12-15 volts. They also draw a lot more current.
Small batteries would drain very quickly. A 12V gel cell makes them rip.
They're not designed to carry much weight since their power comes from the track. It would be nice to know how much torque each kind of motor
produces. Got to have a dyno for that !
