Mundane Monday

Post by CaboWabo »

It was rather dull, but I did finish the dual cell that I completely screwed up yesterday, all is fine and well and it's back poppin wheelies. yay.

Next up, gettin some more motors, more batteries, another dual cell on another pullback...
and this booster chassis keeps calling my name!

is it just torque that is needed to do a wheelie?

or do you weight the back end also?

or the pumping of more current through?

All three of what you mentioned are a factor.....

The increased current gives more torque to the motors...

My dual cell with the Batt rear-mounted did wheelies all the time. I re-did the mod putting both batts in the centre and the wheelies dissapeared :?

what tha?

as ph2t says, all 3 are a factor.

I haven't checked yet, but I'm guessing that just about any motor would be able to pull a wheelie as long as:
- the bit is dual cell
- the dual cell is mounted over the heat sink

ph2t's wheelies disappeared because of the weight distribution, though he could probably get those wheelies back with a super torquey motor... maybe.

I'll be taking video soon hopefully, but we all know about those "helping hands" that don't quite "help"... :)

you sir are correct. my dual cells with the 2nd batt in the center rarely pop wheelies but they will do it once in a while.

its two different driving styles.

battery over rear = duke boys wheelie badass ripping through everything action

battery in center = precision driving high end action

i like em both.

I just ripped out of some PCB's some 3.6V 120mAh nicads. Pulled them apart and they contain 3 * 1.2V batt's. Just a 'lil bit wider and fatter than the regular nicads.

So two of these babies and a drag rail should bring some mad two wheel action back to my kitchen floor. :P

I've yet to get a zip up but just about all my bits get up. I think the large rears small fronts play into it a lil bit
