Ordering from ToyEast???

Post by Grunge »

I know I'm a noob still, but I'd appreciate any help you can offer. I have a friend in the military stationed in Japan. Since overseas shipping seems to be an expensive problem and he gets discounted shipping through the military, I'm thinking about ordering from ToyEast and having it shipped to him. He will then ship it to me in the US. Has anyone ordered from ToyEast before and had good results? Would you recommend ordering from them? I think this would work better than giving him a list of items and sending him to hobby shops in Japan to pick up stuff for me. :) The main reason I'm doing this is because I want the Bit Char-G's and they seem to be a little cheaper over there than buying them here. Thanks for your help.

Toy East has never done me wrong. And I think it would cost you more to pay the shipping twice(to him then to you) if you are orders a bunch of stuff the shiping won't be that bad

Well, I assumed shipping from Hong Kong to Japan would be a lot cheaper and then since he gets killer shipping discounts through the military, Japan to US wouldn't be as bad as direct from Hong Kong. I might end up just having him pick me up some stuff in Japan and shipping it to me instead. I'm beginning to think I have no idea what I'm talking about.

So Bit Char-G's are the shiznit, right?? From all I've read on here, they are the top of the line and everything else is a step down. That's why I figured I'd buy my stash of them and not bother with clones.

Payaso, what area of Florida are you in? I'm in Tampa...

I agree that you'll probably end up paying more paying for shipping twice.

Toyeast shipping rates aren't as bad as you might think. Cost me something like 8 bucks on a couple Superbits. When I only ordered 3 motors it was 4 bucks, so the more you order, the more you save on shipping in the long run.

Shipping times are much quicker than I would have thought too. Only took 10 days the first time I ordered. I was blown away when it took exactly 7 days the second time. That's as fast, if not faster than alot of my domestic orders take.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

It usually takes my orders 5-7 days to come normal shipping all the way to new york. I say skip the double shipping. :-)
