No more MS at Target? Future of MS?

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

No more MS at Target? Future of MS?

Post by TIN »

A couple of threads have mentioned MS getting the boot from Target, and I wanted to voice a couple of more thoughts.

I have been watching this site for months and months...

http://tabletopracers.com/microsizers-pro-series.html

They had release dates for the new line of MS Pros for a few months. Changed it twice now(original release of Nov I think...). Every time I email them, they are a bit aloof of what is going on and I don't have enough guts to push for a straight answer.

Now Target is not stocking MS anymore. Last time I checked Toys R Us, they had one row of MS on a shelf, and many many clones strewn throughout different displays in the store.

Another thing that concerns me is that Tomy isn't putting the turbo buttons to use on their newer controllers. It seems that there is questionable judgement there also, or there is something going on business-wise that we don't know about.

I'm worried about the future of Tomy/MS... I just got into this hobby a few months ago, and I don't want to see the best stuff already out of production.

It could all be as simple as hobbico not wanting to sell through toy store chains. Most hobby shops have Microsizers as well as hobby shops online. As gearboy said there is always the bit char-g through the overseas sites. I'm not worried.

Well I'll tell ya, I probably would not have bought nearly as many cars if they weren't just right there for me to grab, but I started out mail ordering, and I'll do it again if I have to.

I've noticed in the past that Target doesn't carry any RCs during the off season. Maybe they're just dropping them during the slow season, who knows by next christmas, they might be back.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

well i dont think we have to worry about tomy's situation financialy because they make everything. they make so many god damn toys and i dont think they would just cut MS or bits off unless they were really really not selling what so ever. but crazydave is most likely right with the off season nonsense.

Also, MS and Tomy didn't do a single thing to get product on the shelf during the holiday season. Look at what LXX was doing. Look at Super Slicks, ZZs, the submarines and planes and boats by motorworks. When a toy retailer doesn' try to get a share of the holiday season money, it could be a sign of something going on internally.

I don't want to lay some negative vibes down... I'm just taking a guess, and I could be proved wrong by the time the sun comes up.

Hopefully I am wrong. Hopefully they are changing along with the big change that has oocured in the hobby. Maybe instead of giving us something they want to push on us(helmets), maybe they will be more interested in selling us products we ask for.

Maybe I sould go send Hobbico ANOTHER email when I get done here...
