lol...well, I guess I'm going to move away from bits/regular ZZ's for a while perhaps and move on to ZipZap SE's (as soon as I get the fuckin FETs to do the mod damnit!!) and iwaver Mini-Z shit. The thing that turns me off about the bits/regular zz's are those thin hair steering wires and how to solder em back to the board if they break...which happens a lot. The Iwaver mini-Z's are dirt cheap...fully proportional if you use the right tx (but who gives a flying fuck about full propo ) and very customizable...Also, the ZZ SE is slightly propo and doesn't have those annoying fuckin thin steering wires....I'm thinking of eventually doing the mosfet mod on the ZZ SE, I just gotta know the right place to buy the FETs from... either digikey or www.irf.com ....
nowadays, it seems that playing and mucking around with the Iwavers/ZZ SE's are easier and more fun.... That's why we go to these RC's. The extremely skilled hobbyist plays with bits...chops up chassis', applies putty to bodies and paints over, makes dragsters, does the pain in the ass FET mod, yada yada....the hobbyists seeking fun and cost efficient cars fuck with the Iwavers and shit. I'm not a fan of the Xmods/bits because they're hard to modify, but Iwavers and ZZ SE's just appear as more fun to play with to me.
-end of rant

I totally see where you're coming from there Chuckster, and I agree with about steering wires being stupid pains in the asses, I'm actually more pissed about the steering springs, I don't know how many bits have given their lives just to donate a spring.
But while you are entitled to your opinion, I don't totally agree with it. The SE is a much more complicated animal than a bit. If a steering wire breaks on a bit, then I know that's my problem, and I can fix it, unless it breaks at the coil. SEs on the other hand, have a lot more going on, that's more stuff to go wrong. There's lots of thin wires in there, being smashed into a cramped area, lots of chances for problems. I maintain, IMO, bits are still 1000x easier to work on than SEs.
