General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

Here's the breakdown...

You stick the black cable into the black hole marked 'COM'. Then you stick the red cable into; the red hole 'V' if you want to test for Volts, or the other hole 'mA' if you want to test for mA, or the last hole '10A' if you want to check the amperage of your AA batteries or whatever.

Now twist the knob around to the 1.5V setting (I'm guessing this is a pre-defined setting for batteries of this type) and you're ready to start poking any batteries rated at 1.5v (or even 1.2v for the NiMH). Learn this part (with checking voltage) I use my multi for checking voltage about 99% of the time.

The mA setting I'm not even going to go into detail about, if you're not that familiar with the concepts of Electricity I'd have to go through a whole tutorial first before being able to clearly detail how to use that setting, I will say though that it's NOT for telling you the mAH rating for batteries (mAH rating is like the mileage rating for a car, it's not something you just put a meter on to test for, you have to run the thing a bunch of times and get an average).

Giddy up.
