secret radioshack sale? or am I just not in the loop.
At all my local Radio Shacks *ALL* of the original Zip Zaps (not the herbie or SEs) are on sale for $10.00!! I bought the two EVOs today and ordered some lipos and hopefully I'll be able to FET the O.G. Zip Zaps.
I bought an SE and returned it because it seemed to be extremely slow (when set up for top speed). I like the OG ZZ controller better too because I am 6'5" and have big hands.
I'm definately going to FET my ZZMT with a 150mah lipo in it. I already put a OG ZZ stock motor in to replace the steering motor.
Thanks for this board people. I've learned a lot.

sounds like some pimp plans u got. i picked up the silver evo yesterday for 10 dollars and is is beautiful. i plan on making a rall car outtta it.as for your motor i would go with a superslick motor because with my lipo car i have went through 17 motors rangings from microsizers motors 1.0-2.2 or something to the greeen rs motors to nx ones.i put in the superslick motor and she dont even get warm and shes got balls enough to pop rolling wheelies and go soo fast i cant turn my head quick enough.(that is all with the stock green ss motor as well. i plan on hitting up toysrus soon for the 1/4 mile kit for their purle or blue motor.i dont know why i never thought of the ss motor in my lipo it was in my se for near 4 months

I ordered:
2 150mah lipo cells and charger ($28 total batteryspace.com)
16 IRLML2502
10 IRLML6401 (think it will keep me from turning them upside down. UGLY!)
tinyrc.com V-Spec II motor (highest draw of all the motors tested on the tinyrc forums)
I'm going to lipo and FET the 49mhz ZZ with some sort of switch to turn off the batteries and probably a deans micro plug for the charge port. That with the wide rear (and front if I can get the wide tires on the front too with body mod) That with the 38k (I think) motor will be super fast I hope. I hope it doesn't fry anything trying to pull that much juice.
The ZZMT is going to be lipo'd, FET'd and I believe I will attempt to take a few turns off (maybe 5-10) of the orange motor to take some of that torque away. I really don't want to have to push it to get it started without rolling over, but I do want to be able to pull pop a wheelie. I guess I will have to see how it handles all that juice. I'm thinking I can mount a 3.7v powerizer plug into the ZZMT no problem.
The second ZZ I bought will be FET'd (first one in case I suck) and the ZZMT dual cell pack will be moved to it because that is going to be give to a kid who works for me. I got him into Xmods and he can't always find anywhere to run his car because his house is mostly carpeted. Nice little bonus for him (15 years old).
My only concern is with the lipo'd car and truck, will I need to do any modification (such as steering servo resistors, etc) to promote longevity/not short or blow up my lipos? Even 150mah lipos are going to be somewhat dangerous... I guess the plasma-fire looking result just wouldn't last as long (830mAh lipos look funny blowing up!)
