Why I'm Bit Chronic
You know, I got burned out on bits for a while there. Tried getting like Xmods and an Epoch and stuff, but they kinda sucked. I got my Mini LST, and I was very happy. Didn't think I'd play with anything smaller again.
Then this last weekend, I drove my Losi around, and it was fun, but I wanted more speed, but first I need to invest in decent charger, and right now I'm broke. So the Losi is alright and all, but this waiting game sucks, and now it's caked with dirt.
Last night I'm kicking back, and I look over at my bit collection. Its all covered in ashes and dust, and I had gotton lazy, and just started piling cars on top of cars. So I'm not sure why, but next thing I know I'm dusting them off, and arranging them, then I see cars I want to drive. I pick out 3 that were almost there, they just needed a little tweaking, and I was fed up with them when I last played with them.
After fiddling with the cars, I threw my 4'x4' track out on the end of the bed, like I used to, and for once all the cars performed perfectly. It was just so relaxing laying bed watching TV, making laps.
No larger scale hobby grade RC can replace that, and I've realized the fiddling and tweaking is part of the fun, it just gets out of hand sometimes with 50+ micro RCs to maintain. One thing thing bits have done for me that will never change, is scouring the toy store shelves looking for things that could become part of a RC.

Yeah I hear ya CD. I started collecting back in 2k3, started modding, joined all the forums then burnt out. All the stuff was out of sight out of mind for the next few years cuz we had a party and I had to stash it all in a box when cleaning the garage. I busted it out a few months ago and planned on getting rid of them. Came to the forums to see if anyone was interested but saw some of the crazy mods that had come out and got sucked right back into it. I never should have fired up that soldering iron because once I finally got that mosfet mod down, I was once again hooked.
Several dollars later, the wife gives me a hard time evertime I touch a ZZ or bit. I get the heavy sigh whenever she finds me in a toy section "watching my kids" or if I'm on bitpimps for more than 5 minutes.

The fiddling is why I stayed in RC in the first place. But I can't have so many cars, I get too attached
. I have a ZZMT on my shelf calling out to me all the time but I just can't get to it yet. That is my last bit. I was contemplating getting a couple SEs but with them costing as much as an Xmod now (and I can't afford another Xmod) the choice was kinda easy to make. When I see you guys rolling out your rides I get sad, sad that I can't do that as I want. Having to import is a BITCH. When I first started I could go buy the "indian man's store" and get a clone. Now I just try every cheap mod I can on my poor Xmod.
When I left bits it was also a quest for speed, but now it's just a quest for company. No one here is into ANY scale other than 1:10. And the word on every leyman tongue is "gas car". People look at my Xmod and ask "is that a gas car??" I just roll my eyes and say no.
Cut!!!
I just realised I was going off on a lil rant there, healing a bleeding heart or somethin'
I'm done

I would have to agree with y'all, I was so bit crazy back in the day, and then Xmods came out. I started buying kits, RS upgrades, GPM shiat, and after about 400 bucks I got sick of them. I had to get back to the micros.
I remember starting out about the same time as DT, and as things progressed, the potential of bits really started to show. Custom bodies, chassis, dual cells, and fet mods just made me want more. Now that MT's are here, it gives me more to love about 1/64th.
I would like to get an OL or an Iwaver someday, but unfortunately I don't feel it's as much of a challenge modwise compared to bits.......

SEs and MTs are too complicated. I think the magic of bits is their simplicity. That's why I'm talking about good ol' fashioned Bit Char-G/Microsizers.
In fact Zip Zaps just aren't the same. I like bits. I already have too many, but I'm suddenly getting the urge to snag a few more while they're stil out there.
