General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

Crack it open to find a 150mAh lipo, N20 size motor, and SE steering rack.

Thank you guys.

@ Dave, Code asked me the same question. The op amp was to save a potential headache because I haven't checked the electrical characteristics of the reciever where the pot attatches.

This is the problem I potentially saved myself from:
If the center reference input from the pot "floats", then the op amp is not needed. But if there's resistance on that lead, the op amp is needed to put amps behind the voltage. The op amp makes it jitter like crazy, so i'm going to either try to clean up the signal, or just remove it all together.

The idea for the dual trim pots was to have a rate to adjust how far it turns, as well as a steering center to have the same function as the original centering thing on the bottom... As of right now, my steering is limited in travel by the pot "bottoming out" on either side (full lock to lock inside the pot). But it's all good cause it works as much as i need it to. Here's a schematic I drew for ya'll.

Well since the monster is down for a while (and has been), I thought i'd do a follow up on that op amp thing.

The servo driver on the SE board has a 'gap' for when the steering motor is off.. Well, if you do a simple rate control without the op amp, it may center way off to the left, or center off the the right, or anywhere it damn well pleases. So plan-B entails the op amp.. I'm not sure what happens to the signal, but there's a hell of a lot of jitter going on. That jitter is actually a good thing with this "gap". It makes the steering jitter enough where it WILL center even though it's a little shakey..

BAM! Problem solved! :)

Now ya'll want to know why the monster is sleeping.. It's lipo died somehow. :( Also Codesuidae is MIA again lol. I need the DC mod! I'm hoping to get new values to him because step 1 is too low and all the rest are too high to really climb, it more like "flips" at a quarter throttle lol.

Another mod I missed while being gone. :(

That's outstanding, Nasphere! Make sure you shoot another vid when you get this sucker rollin' again.

Hey, isn't that a Ludwig symbol on that floor tom in the background of your video? It's blurry, but it looks like it.
