The aero guys have done it again
A proportional bit with 4 PICs, some resistors, a MOSFET, and a couple POTs

Interesting, but with the size of the extra PCB, I'd have to say its far more practical to just go with a DC modded Zip Zap SE.
Then there's this:
...but its cool people out there are still experimenting with bits. Thanks for sharing that.

That sucks, I wouldn't be able to control a car like that.Hold down the "forward" key and the motor RPMs increase. Pressing "reverse" reduces RPM.

Yeah, the open IC decoder boards are pure gold to them. The reason they don't use SE boards is because they are too heavy. I took the electronics out of my Air Hogs Aero Ace (tank steer plane) and the PCB was half that or less of a zipzaps, about 3/4 the size of a bit pcb, and has better range with propo throttle.

Pick them up at walmart and target...$40 regular, $30 sale, and some people have claimed as low as 12 and change with some kind of "bundle pack"! They fly good out of the box, but I have since gutted it (Easy to do, the whole thing is glued together in halves) and am since looking for something more agile and possibly use the 40mhz bit pcb and look into a bit plane.
