The way a serious hoarder does it is to buy 3; one to keep new in the box and stash in the basement, untouched by human hands (don't even look at it!), one to take out of the box but kept in pristine original condition, and the third one to mod.
Then there's the hoarder with "the sickness"... two in the box (one for future sale, just in case it's worth a shitload), two to mod (you always need a backup in case of disaster), and one to keep stock, so you can shoot a side-by-side before and after.
Yeah, and then there's you, who doesn't even know what's in the inventory because it makes you sort of embarrassed and sick to your stomach if you think about it too much.

Then there's me, who has no where near the the stash some of you have, but I do have something like 50 working cars, and not only am I incapable of leaving them in the box, I mod every single one of them. About 95% of them are FET modded. I always try to leave one stock though, and right now my only one that's stock is a Herbie that DT hooked me up with. I really like Herbie, but I'm not sure he can last.

i'm a quality not quantity guy, only have about 5 working chassis', 10 or so in total

but what i mean is i usually just give away or sell excess stuff, i hate having it around gathering dust if i know someone can use it. there's always a steady flow of kiddies around here and if i see them grooving on a toy of mine i usually let them keep it

that's why i never let them touch the good stuff

I generally have 1 car in each scale working at any given time.

I cleaned up a little a few weeks ago and found 50+ boards

I have more fun tinkering than having running cars... or can I just never stop tinkering?

Im right with you there , alot of time I spend hours of tinkering to acheive nothing new , It just relieves boredom .
