Re: Q-steer
At first I thought that was KipKay's parody 12V where he shows a car battery to have like 200 AAA's or something, but no, those particular batteries are not the right size for the Q-Steers. They need LR44's and those are too thin.

Re: Q-steer
Are you sure it was a Q-Steer? There are some other brands that look the same that do charge from the controller. I think the Choro-Qs chrged from the controller...I never had one but I seem to remember them being the rechargeable kind...I think
BTW Nissan Silvia 1800 fans yes asia has some of them available http://www.yesasia.com/us/choro-q-std-1 ... /info.html

My sisters came! We had some fun on the cardboard track cuz the wood one is too difficult for her. Hers is faster than mine, but mines the first model made, so the batts may be low compared to hers.

cHeck the motor, bet you the faster one has a green end. Slower ones have a white end.

Re: Q-steer
haha, I come back after a 3 year hiatus to see "Q Steer" rofl.
It's amusing to hear the asian announcers in the promotional videos say "Q Steer" lol.
Made me realize that there will never be an "L Steer" BAHAHAHAHA......ahem..sorry. anyway....
I made a recent micro-hunt excursion to try and catch up with the hobby.
I remembered a post by frizzen about Mario Kart Q-Steers at target, and was able to snag the only one
that branch had, Wario.
Ripped that shell off quickly lol. It's not that I don't like Mario stuff or whatever, I just want him on my
TV and not on the hood of my r/c car.
Pretty slow, even with the turbo boost. It has a white end motor. These motors are shorter in length than
the bit/microsizer motors, so no easy switch there without some sort of modding.
These being just that much smaller than a bit, the way it handles, and it's speed makes it a perfect
desktop racer. It creates sort of a "i don't have to clean up shit i can just play right here in front of my keyboard" type of atmosphere. Awesome!
Well this is cool. One can put in the green end motor from the Terrain Titan Buggies.
Same length motor, I just used the original motor pinion that Q-Steer comes with.
Better yet, those newer Air Hogs Terrain Titan Monster Trucks have a red end motor that's
compatible as well.
I put that sucker in, and lemme tell ya, this little Q-Steer came to life. Very punchy and fast but
still controllable with turbo engaged. The 'normal' speed is great as well, doesn't crawl.
I was enticed enough to order a couple Q-Steer cars from overseas.
EDIT: I think frizzen and some others recommended visiting the dollar store for the LR44 button cells.
Good advice and thank you, they have these 8 packs of 'em for 1$! The few I tried so far
seem fine. I saw One/single Energizer LR44 at Walmart for 4.14$ on sale, so, again, thank you lol.

Re: Q-steer
still dont get the joke even when thinking in engrish. sorry!
the corvette is a nice body, i was a bit annoyed that it didnt have the faster orange motor in the set. only the reebok skyline comes with that one.
ive been loving my new choro-q hybrids, they are like q-steer 2.0 . li-ion battery recharges off the controller and they have a lot of punch. teres a little to much difference in speed between boost and normal speeds though.
bought a few tech deck quater pipes to jump them off, they work great!
heres a vid of the new ones with a track with rails. the first half shows a car with 2 pins keeping it streight. the second half has the car with a single pin going sideways.

Ok good, I thought I was the only one too slow to get the L-Steer joke.

Re: Q-steer
bah, crap, ok. It's probably my joke delivery coupled with the fact that most might not find the joke as amusing as I do.
Z-Beam had it, it's Engrish. Ya know, can I have an order of Robster Craws?
That's why there won't be an '"L-Steer", because it would be "R-Steer" when spoken in Engrish. Babam..boom.
lol, ok, the Ebay ad cracked me up as well. yeah, that's a Corvette, but look at the listing. Its as though
one tried to spell it as it is pronounced in Engrish. See, the 'r' in Corvette is replaced with an "L', the 'v' with a 'b', so it's spelled out 'Colbet.'
The asian version of Deck the Halls is brought to us courtesy of A Christmas Story movie, near the end of it.lol.
EngRish cracks me up, it's not a 'racial prejudice' thing in my head. Ya know how if ya make fun of an Asian, and ya squint yer eyes and say like "dong song long'. I find it equally as funny, if not more, if I saw an Asian making fun of an American by enlarging their eyes with their index finger and thumb, and saying 'BIG MAC LARGE FRIES'.
My signature is usually a line from the LXX Char-G instruction manual. It has got to be the best EngRish manual
I have ever seen.
Anyway, above all thanks for responding guys. Coming back to the hobby of Bits at present and I am very hard pressed to find micro-talk anywhere. I like, love you guys and stuff.
z-beam, omg yeah, those Hybrids. Hazmat has a review over at Ripper7, but I can't seem to post there to ask a few questions even after a week or so or re-registering. I'm glad you mentioned them. There was brief talk here in a different thread about em, but not too much was covered.
I remember getting Bits with dead batteries in em. I have no experience with li-ion batteries, but is it safe to assume they 'store' better than the old bit batteries? Like, my chances of getting a dead car are rare compared to the NiCd in bits?
Ah crap, so it's the Reebok Car with that motor upgrade. Good to know thanks.
I see it's a red-end motor, and makes me wonder if it's the same type that's in the new NS Nitro Micro Trucks, a Q-Steer sized motor with red end. Not orange, looks more red, but that 'official' Q-Steer motor upgrade looks orange.
