Thanks everyone, I found the weakness being the iwaver servo motor. I took one out the crappy RS Corvette I have and put it in. It is alot faster and has much more torque. On par with a 3rd gen with a turbo motor...

Naw, I didn't, that's sick, you pervert.Finks wrote:Course you all know my love for diecast wheels.
Doesn't the chrome rub off?
Aww, never mind, I don't wanna know.
Great work sat4life. You kinda half ass inspired me to try to do something with all my dead SE parts, I'm just not sure what yet. I'm not really into die cast bodies, so I'm looking into other options, and I'm not shure if this plastic 350z body from a Muscle Machines RC will give me room to work.

LOL I would worry about plastic shaving going up the hole...ouch!!crazydave wrote:Naw, I didn't, that's sick, you pervert.Finks wrote:Course you all know my love for diecast wheels.

I was thinking of getting one of those modifer cars and doing it to one of those too. You should give it a try crazydave.
I had to do it pimps. Since my iwaver pcb should be here any time now I snatched the mr01 pcb out of the zap and put it in the S15. The speed increase with the pcb is awsome. I will make yet another video if you pimps want a peek. I also got me some goodies from DT today and after playing with the new pcb in the car it would loose traction and spin out of control. So I used the wheels from a microsizer (4 rear wheels) and put them on. The crome looks pretty pimp and now I can use better tires then the ones on the import racer wheels. Here's a few pics of the beast.

Hey LB what you been up to? The cells are Mini Prismatic Polymer Li-Ion Batterys.
Specifications:
Chemistry: Polymer Li-Ion
Capacity: 170mAh
Recharging cycle life: > 500 times
Charging rate: 225 mA Max. (1.5C rate )
Discharging Rate: 300 mA Max. ( 2C rate )
Dimension: 4 mm (T) x 19 mm (W) x 24 mm (L) (0.16" x 0.74" x 0.95")
Weight: 3.0 g
I found them at batteryspace.com. They are the perfect demensions for the space I have.

Can’t wait to see how it does with the LiIon in. Your cars have been nothing short of amazing.
I just completed my first SE LiPo install (E-Tec 80 mAh), took a whole 15 min max, what a difference.
Picked up a GTO to put a IW-02 CB in, not sure what to use for a battery yet I have another E-Tec 80 that would work but there ought to be something that would make better use of the available space. Looks like I could flip the CB and put a Kokam 145 on top with the GTO body but that would just make it top heavy.

Thats awesome LB, I can't wait to see the GTO, I got a blue one. Hows the performance boost with the li-po? I was trying to find some of the e-tec 80s but had no luck with google. Do you know of a good place to get some? I would like to get one in my GT500 (I just ordered a DC mod from code). How is the 5v dc-dc boost coming?

2X power, amazing for such a simple mod. I ended up repositioning the motor capacitor and shaving a small piece of plastic off for a better fit now you can’t even tell it’s not bone stock by looking. I soldered my wires in but it looks like you could make clips that would just slide over the battery holders to switch back and forth between LiPo or NiMH operation.
The E-TEC 80’s have gotten hard to find the only people I know of who have them in stock is Balsapr.com but they want an arm, leg, and kidney for them.
Still waiting on parts, I ordered a couple of different charge pumps but this 5v boost converter from Linear Technology is what I’m pining my hopes on:

The LT1308 is a micropower, fixed frequency boost DC/DC converter that operates from an input voltage as low as 1V. Capable of delivering 5V at load current of 1A from a single Li-Ion cell, the LT1308 also features power saving Burst Mode operation at light loads. High efficiency is maintained over a broad 1mA to 1A load range.
