If I had one I'd be selling it really quick. There's all kinds of weird little things that skyrocket in price over some scarcity frenzy. Though I don't own one, I can't imagine there is anything so special about any SuperSlick product that would warrant it being worth over $50, let alone $100. Obviously other people saw this go and....http://cgi.ebay.com/SSMT-Micro-Crawler- ... dZViewItem the madness continues. asking $150 plus $6.50 S&H for a USED SSMT! Damnit! Why didn't I sell everything I had and buy the TRS out when I had the chance. BTW CrazyDave if you hang on to the remains of your's you might be able to trad it for a 1/1 crawler in a few weeks.

Because you never know when some item is going to become valuable, and when it will become worthless.sidewinder wrote:Damnit! Even though bits are hard to find, I doubt I could get back what I paid for all the unopened ones I have, even the rare ones. At the time, I saw them as collectible, and at the very least I wanted to have some around to mod long after they're gone. It's pretty unlikely that their value will go up much or that I'll actually get around to doing that, and will probably end up selling them at a garage sale in 20 years.

Have you ever seen a 1:1 battery terminal completely covered with acid corrosion? .From the look of the batteries in my MS-Lambo set, in 20 years there wont be a bit. It'll just be a blob of plastic with a circuit board somewhere in itcrazydave wrote:You make sure you look me up!SuperFly wrote:and will probably end up selling them at a garage sale in 20 years.
As soon as some one else finds another toy that has the right sized axles, these 1/43 SSMTs won't ever be seen or heard from again.

Actually, I've had that happen to several cars, and now that my bits are essentially "put away" I'm thinking it might wise to remove all the batteries. Besides in 20 years we'll probably have some new battery technology that will give us twice the voltage 10x the runtime, and fit in half the space.ibjamn wrote:Have you ever seen a 1:1 battery terminal completely covered with acid corrosion? .From the look of the batteries in my MS-Lambo set, in 20 years there wont be a bit. Or just better cars. You KNOW the electrics industry keeps making shit smaller, I mean, look at your cell phones!crazydave wrote:Actually, I've had that happen to several cars, and now that my bits are essentially "put away" I'm thinking it might wise to remove all the batteries. They already had a car that could be controlled by cellphone using infrared...
I'm hoping for a fully proportional MicroMachine size car. Or maybe instead that should be monster truck since something that small going fast could be flipped with dust.
I guess with the price those 1/43 SS-M axles are apparently grabbing, I won't be doing a build with them! It's from ToysRUs, it's not a Clodbuster.

Jack of all trades, master of none; yet often better than master of one.
