I wish I had know that when I was growing up, I used t spend my summers in Youngstown on the Ohio/Penn border and we would hang out at this crappy little place called Idora park because Ceader Point was too far away...it was a good place to kill a summer, well untill the rollercoaster/ballroom burnt down.

You know I got this phobia about payin full price for stuff. Scares the shit outta me
That's one of the reasons why I'm always last with my mods on certain shit, that and the fact that it takes me for fuckin ever to finish.....
I bought a couple ZZ at full price and that's when they 1st came out. Now when they started puttin dem on sale, I cleaned up :-o

Yup, I had only a few bit clones for a few years till I found the zzmt's on clearance at the shack and my local closeout/bargain store had zips and parts for next to nothin. Bought 6 and a bunch of bodies tires, purple motors . That and finding this site is what got me started on moddin them. I could afford to hack em, and my old clones became the dual axle truck I entered in "pit a racer".

Gotta love those deals, shoppin around and waiting for the right time to buy can really save $$

And I got a few more killer rides to show you guys soon because of it!

I bought the Simi and the Cop Car the other day.

These have the same chassis as the "Cars" Zip Zaps and the Simi's third set of wheels are a screw on piece they sit in a little slot right behind the chassis and then two screws hold a bracket that holds them in.

Not bad but could be better. I think the truck has some good modding qualities! :-o

The lights on the Simi come out the side and are completely clear so the whole assembly lights up so a little silver or chrome paint can fix that.

I was thinking a Simi "Pecker Wrecker"? :???:

I actually bought the Camaro (what can I say, I drive mostly Chevy, so I buy mostly Chevy), but I also bought the pick-up body kit since they had them for $.97 (going back to buy the last of them tonight) and have a Silverado body on it now.
I think the Camaro looks a little CARtoonish to me, from the comic/magazine back in the 80s/90s, but I like Camaros so I will probably figure something out to do with this in time. I like how the truck bodies have head and tail lights, just wish the Camaro did too.
I was comparing the speed and turning radius to my old Firebird ZZ, the Camaro is nearly twice as fast, but the Firebird can damn near turn on a dime, so I have noticed a big difference between them in performance already.
Since I am really new to modding RC, I am studying a lot of the tutorials that you guys have posted, thanks for laying the ground work!

Picked up an Optimus Prime today. I gotta say, it's a pretty badass rig, even though it's not a COE, like he should have been...

Couple things I didn't expect: only uses 1 LED with a plastic light pipe for headlights, no tail lights, 5th wheel molded and pre-drilled, very well detailed!

The more I look at it, the more I can't help but think I need to throw some wide rim spacers and tires onto the back axles. They just don't look right that narrow, but it'll take some fender clearancing. This also looks like a prime candidate for fiberoptic tailights. And definately some kind of trailer.

Now I've got a nice looking custom Peterbuilt conventional to go with my oval clone Kenworth aero. Maybe I should track down one of the oval clone COEs and try and do the old Optimus Prime.

So is the chassis and electrics the same as the cars' version?
And does it also have the cripple resistor on the motor?

"Transformers" appear to be on the same as "Cars" chassis.

They DO have the motor-cripple resistor. Mine stayed in just until I proved that the car had all functions working.
