thanks peeps fo the props.
i started with making the body square, nothing special , then to get the fins on the back i took my dremel with the cutter disk and cut out the section that i needed to be open so that i could put the fins on, dude let me just take a photo of the underside and show you all what is really happenin there.

ZZ hubs are a little better than the regular because they come in so many different variations. I know they have a set of wire rims that would probably look pretty good on that car. Of course they have a few pop up sets that have several different rims in it. I would recomend picking one of those sets up. It may be worth the money.
Although, I would strongly recomend getting a hold of some alloy wheels for this job. The rides lookin good. Alloys would be the cherry on top.
If you do extend the wheel base, then just make sure the front wheels are not wider than the back wheels. It will effect control negatively.
Hell of a job!

When I was born (1966), my parents had the hard top version of that car. They sold it when we moved from Minneapolis when I was 3 1/2, but somehow I have memories of riding in the backseat on the way to the lake.
Theirs was white with red interior. That's my suggestion for color scheme. If you use some of that rub-on chrome and detail it out like you do, it will be da bomb, yo.

Personally....i like the stock look of the old Impala's. so I would try to go with a factory color scheme. Here are some choices you might want to consider:
White....Ala Superfly
This Red is bumpin'
Blue/Aqua
and my personal favorite...Black with Red interior
Of course, you could always go pimp...

i was thinking about checking out the lhs and get some clear sheets. i have stuff around here but is the wrong thickness. i am sure that the lil car might role off a table or something at some point so it will have to be sturdy enough.
the shield that is in the pictures i bent with heat and it was ok as far as shape went but it is all scratched up, it will take a few tries to get it right, then attaching it is another issue all together.
so do i want an optional hardtop, this would be a bitch to pull off!
i was thinking that i would just make a windscreen and be done with that part. i stretched the body to fit a zz, will i use a zz with lights or a reg zz, the pcb on this digi propo zz is huge and sticks way up over the body.
this is why i was thinking about doing and interior so to hide the pcb, but then i will have to raise the body some and lower the side panels to hide that deep ass chassis.
man there is a lot of obsticals ( <---- spelling? ) to overcome here on this end.
has anyone seen a 1/64 scale impala in the stores? i have bought one from wal-mart but is was way too small.
