Re: Micro Terrain Titans / Q-Steer
It was kind of funny, I was jumping the Boomerang and was actually doing pretty well, until I managed to break the ground wire loose...I guess I'll be testing my soldering tiny things skills latter.

Ok... scratch what I said about them being featured in an article. I haven't had any problems out of the 4 that I have. I have the Hotshot, Boomerang, Avante and the Hornet.
It sucks that you guys have had issues with yours.

Well to be fair to the manufactures it was dropping probably a foot-and-a-half off of the ramp on edge of the end table.
So in 1/64 scale that's like a 96ft drop...I guess I was kind of asking for something to give.

Re: Micro Terrain Titans / Q-Steer
OK, I got tired of looking at the broken bit so I decided it was time to try to solder it. The only real problem with the plan was my small soldering iron has been dead for a couple of years maybe so the only option was to use my 180W soldering gun. Looking at the metal plate that the ground goes to made me think I'll probably end up melting the whole rear pod. I was amazed when I successfully reattached the wire on the first try and didn't melt the anything other than the solder.
Now I may have to rip apart the cheap micro heli I have and see if I can fit that lipo in there.

do it!sidewinder wrote:Now I may have to rip apart the cheap micro heli I have and see if I can fit that lipo in there.

i had to do some chassis hacking but i managed to fit a lipo in. i used the charging socket and switch from the heli.
there's not much room to work with so i just stuck the charge jack/switch on the outside out of laziness.
the speed is much better and to improve the range i sanded the paint off the roof to allow the ir to reach the reciever better.

Is that chewing gum?
It doesn't look bad.... I had pictured the lipo taking up a lot more space.
