General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

Getting closer...

Attached the pinion for the se gearbox. This is where really tiny drill bits come in handy.
Image

Made a bracket to mount to the bottom of the gearbox and hold the motor.
Image

Motor epoxied in. I like to run it while I'm waiting for it to set a bit to ensure proper gear mesh.
Image

Gearbox assy. epoxied on. Once again I run it while gluing to ensure gear mesh. I have video of this as well but it's not very exciting. :|

Battery mock up.
Image

Gonna be a tight fit. May extend the w/b again just to get some breathing room. I still want to add a bulkhead in the rear btw. the board and motor to mount the springs and the body.

Thanks. Got the battery from Plantraco. They're in Canada so it takes a while but they've got free shipping. :-o

Got some stuff done today.

Managed to mount the pinion to the planetary for the steering. :-o That's 20x reduction there plus the 200:1 it already had. We'll see if it's too slow.

Got some of the electronics wired up.

Was a little scary when I dead shorted the lipo by mistake. It was just for an instant but that thing got scary hot. Should probably change it but I think I'll let it ride.

Also had to build a new driveshaft when it stuck on me during gluing. Other than that it's moving along.

That's a cool video.

You know, I never thought I'd get to the point that I was entertained by a video of wheels turning. :???:

Yeah, I debated posting it but I wanted to show how slow the steering is. The one of the reduction box, now that's boring.

Under it's own power. 8-)

Some of the normal issues with torque twist. Usually gets better with use and break in. The rest I tune out with the suspension. I'm really happy with the cog so far. It climbed straight up till the rear tires were touching the wall, so I guess that's pretty good. As long as I can keep the body fairly lightweight, it should perform well.

Cog is lookin' good. Wheels need more trimming before final gluing.
