new shens at dealextreme.com
Clone in a can...

Ok, get past the goofy packaging and the odd controller and there's a decent looking body with front and rear lights. The description also states "built-in rechargeable lithium batteries". Not sure if that's a misprint or not but we'll see. I have two on order and I'll post a review when they come.
forgot to mention two other styles...

I like the pop can case, decent little novelty. As far as the batteries, I would guess they are calculator type batteries, and not lithium polymer.
Let us know how they drive, that's a decent looking car for the price.

Re: new shens at dealextreme.com
These came the other day; here are a few pictures.
The "Tomato" car with it's tx.

Size comparison with a standard bit. Much more proportioned, not as cartoony.

Wheelbase comparsion. Again, nicely proportioned with a much lower chassis.

Top off. Has LED headlights and tailights.

Runs well. A little lacking in torque but it's pretty quick. I'm going from memory as it's been ages since I played with a zipzap, but I'd say it's as quick as the latest non-se versions. Solid range too.

WOW! Those are nice looking! I like the chassis too - looks like one might be able to fit a favorite HO slot car body on those without much work.
Thanks for the pics and the performance low-down.

That does look like one of the better thought out chassis I've seen. The detail looks good; is Tomato a real livery or is it just something the Non-English speaking designer thought looked like a cool word for the car?
I was just looking at the micro buggies...four different cars, four different prices? What the hell?

Did you figure out if they actually have a lithium battery or if it's just a NiMh?richh wrote:Runs well. A little lacking in torque but it's pretty quick. I'm going from memory as it's been ages since I played with a zipzap, but I'd say it's as quick as the latest non-se versions. Solid range too.

Re: new shens at dealextreme.com
I have no idea where the names came from. There's Tomato, Soprt R/C, Brainpower, and Avadn.
Soprt = Sport? and Avadn = Advan perhaps?
The battery is not lithium, it's a Nicd or Nimh cell. Sizewise, it seems smaller in diameter and in length compared with the cells in bits or zipzaps. However, despite having a smaller battery, the car still has decent speed and runtime so maybe the rest of the electronics are more efficient.

Got one, too... choosed the Veyron thing, despite of the horrible colour. Got it a few days ago, first thing to do was to get the body apart. lights covers, engine and windows can be taken off (with little violence...).
Here's the pics of the ripped off body, sanded body, idea of the finished job and the first coatings. Second colour (light coffee) will be following...

At first I thought that the pictures of the Bugatti were the finished bit and thought it ha to be the best detailed micro I'd ever seen. It looks like it should be great, good choice on colors.

Wait? You are in Germany right? Crap, now I'm thinking of every country in th region...
Great work, that's one of the best looking micros I've seen in a long time.
