I was checking out the Sniper Buggy again for inspiration, and saw a new link at the top of the page. I went to check it out and it appears to be a new TTTT parts store. They only have a "gitterbox" (gitter-done?) which looks like a small hampster cage, some flanges, a steering mechanism.. for micro servos, and U-Joints parts! They are small metal sheets that have cut-outs for up to 5 1:87 vehicles. You assemble them yourself and attach them to brass, they you just need to shell it larger tubing. There are german instruction PDF's on the page, but you can see from the pictures what is going on. I already emailed them to see if they could ship to America.

ein gekreuztes Muster would be a cross pattern...like a fence, I'm guessing "gitter" would be something like crossed...and I think box would be box...well it would be "kasten" but I think they mean box (especially since the picture shows a box).

That U joint is inspired! so simple when you look at it, I'll bet you could photo etch something like that pretty easily. Thanks for the heads-up. :-o

Thanks, and as I recall, a Euro is about the size of an American quarter.
