Yay first post. Anyway, I was wondering if you guys did or do any mods for the Takara Tomy Q-steer. I saw some threads about the buggy but I searched and didn't find any mods.

My gtr34 comes in a couple days :-D

IT CAME! And so early too... It's so cute . The contoller is just about 2 inches! The car is also about 1.5in.

Pros:
Tiny
Cute
Portable
Many Frequencies
Good tire grip

Cons:
Contoller is way too small
Slow, but that can be fixed!
Controller must be pointed at the car

These are awesome, I totally recommend getting 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4)

Sounds like your hooked  If you have a digital camera why not put up some pictures...we'll consider them "before" pics. That's assuming your planning on doing some mods.

Hmm... I can't seem to find the camera. Would it be bad if I asked to borrow my sisters disney princess camera?

Thats the series one collection (takara/tomy picture)

EDIT: My sister ordered the Red Mazda RX7. Were gonna have fun on my new homemade track!

Yes. Get yourself a decent Hanna Montana camera instead.

God help me, I do love that show...and it's not just the dirty old man drooling after her friend Lilly part of me...well, maybe mostly the dirty old man part, but the show's good too.

I picked up one of those evos and after it sat on my shelf for a while it needed an update. I picked up a penny racer body (cheap-o $1.99) Its certainly not a performer, never was, even with the evo body.

It works great on my 2 tracks, one cardboard, the other wood with plastic pipe sides. I had to use Felt for traction on the wood tracks bridge, though. I'm not sure if i'm gonna mod it, but i'm thinkin about using some lego fat tires in the back, only if I can get anouther axle. ImageThat's mine.Image Thats the one my sister got. Red vs. Blue!

It suks that it costs more than the car itself to replace the batts.
12 dollar car, 16 dollar batts? doesn't make sense to me, although the car and controller are probably only take a couple bucks to make.

but you charge the car on the controller.
you don't need to buy a new bat all the time :?

No, not with the Q-Steers. They use watch batteries in the car and you turn the car on to use it. The TX is always on. I don't know where you live Nerfer, but at my local Dollar Tree, they have products (like a magnetic led light) that have 3 of the LR44 batteries and they are obviously 1 dollar for 3.

You might want to check out this video if they don't have the batteries...I think these button cells are the right size.http://www.metacafe.com/watch/773138/12 ... surprised/
