bit/ zip zap half track.

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

SE was the first to have light PCB, they used a tiny servo, no PCB cover just a black painted board .

'Transformer' chassis is a good choice. It's the same as the 'Cars', so if you want more speed delete the resistor.

You can look on ebay, there are scale models of military things like I used for Armageddon http://bitpimps.lixlink.com/pages/phpFo ... on#p121362 (which I need to get back to). But those models aren't cheap...sometimes you find a deal, but not often. The other option would be to get some styrene from the LHS and make your own like Frizzen is doing http://bitpimps.lixlink.com/pages/phpFo ... alf+bakery.

Good luck finding something to fit. For millitary, your scale is 1/72 or 1/35. From time to time you can find a little bit of 1/43 millitary, but it's VERY rare and detail isn't always there.

Just scratch build it! It's a millitary vehicle, they're all flat plains anyway, no complex curves!

Search online, get a free "Papercraft" halftrack file, use your computer to scale it to your tank tread size and front wheel, print it, may have to print a few times to get the size you need, and you've got a 1:1 pattern for making it. Pick up a sheet of styrene, a couple blades, CA or good styrene solvent, some files...and you're gold!

I agree, sometimes you can find odd sizes especially out of the former soviet areas...1/48 seems to be about right, but if/when you do find these you can end up paying between $15 to $60. A sample pack of styrene--which should have some useful odds and ends as well as sheets--should run $5-$10 depending on the LHS.

There are some deals on ebay...this is only about a buck more than our LHS (including the shipping) and it's a nice sampler. http://cgi.ebay.com/Styrene-Round-Rod-S ... 286.c0.m14

When in a pinch for styrene or her cousins...try plastic "FOR SALE" signs from Wal-Mart, Homo Depot, or your friendly neighborhood hardware store...or try looking around for old CD Rom jewel cases...it's everywhere if you're "tuned in". ;-)
