General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

With the X-Trek it depends on who you ask, some people got cars that apparently had build quality issues. Also, if you have too much traction they are a little top heavy, but if you use them on the hard plastic track they rock.

I don't have micro xmods. If its ground clearance is lower than the old zipzaps, I prefer take zzse that has proportion control and swap body. What I don't like zipzaps (xmods also) is the chassis and body has a big different for ground clearance.

Yes I have x-trek pro. here is my review.
(some points may be pro or con for u)

-super fast and high torque
-Proportion control
-mini-z size transmitter
-small turning diameter
-steering and throttle is quite sensitive (maybe too sensitive)
-high ground clearance
-different size of front and rear wheel
-stuttering problem. lost control very often
-controllable range is 6 feet only
-the car handling level is medium to hard if zipzaps is easy
-only 4 different bodies to select
-no led head light and tail light

the zzse's have the worst ground clearance of em all... i dont know if you were referring to the original zipzaps, or the special editions...
but the micro xmods have a pretty good clearance, just like a lil bit lower than the originals... plus they have motorized steering. :-o

zzse chassis ground clearance is 1.5-2mm. The body ground clearance is 5.5-6.5mm. The worst is the 3-4mm different between the chassis and body but not the low or high ground clearance.

Jang gave that xmod GT-R a pretty good review...I really like the scale looking body on those.

I think they're going for 7.99 at the Shaft now. I may need one of those GT-R's! :???:

Just briefly about those SHEN trucks... I notice someone said the wheels are awful. Well they are actually one of the better micro r/c wheel designs. The front pins actually go through the knuckles into the rim on these SHENs unlike most micros where the pin goes through the wheel into the knuckle... Makes for really easy wheel swaps with Jada toys etc...

As you can see here I have swapped the wheels directly between the F-350 Jada and an old SHEN. The SHEN's tyres have completely hardened, cracked, and been thrown out!

Which Shen trucks? Is that the 'Hurricane' Shens with the larger pistol style controller/charger?
Was thinking of snaggin one or two off Ebay for kicks, 15$ shipped, but was hesitant not knowing
anything about them. I've had a fair share of Shen cars, however those Hurricane trucks, which look
similar to the one in your pic there, they seem like a different breed.

Is there a review, or even some sort of commercial end-user observation post somewhere
possibly under a different product name that I missed for these suckers?

and I was feeling a little under the weather. Nothing major, just the runs from white castle sliders I think.
