adding channels

I was watching some of those tttt vids from Germany the other day, and I would love to do something like those. I know most of those are IR controlled. If I picked up one of those terrain titans from air hogs is it possible to add channels to the IR systems? if not where would I find 3-4 channel IR or radios that small.
