i had a theory, it came to me in a dream it was to put the dual motors and pcb board from an i racer into a cheap project clone and wire up the motors to the electro magnets in the front so variable ammounts of electricity would pass through the coils thereby giving the little "i-clone-racer" fully digital proportional steering youd have to use the i racer controller of course someone please try this and lemmie know how it works out

some company on the web sells a pcb that works with a digiq controller that can be soldered into a bit.

Are the iracers any good? We mac nuts are attracted to anything "i".
Propo steering is neat, but IR is notoriously glitchy and finnecky.
As a side note....does anyone have the 90$ necessary for a good micro FM rx with proportional actuator driving? Get one of those with a Hitec Flash 4 SX, and you'll have quite the ride. Best of all, the ESC in a RFFS-100 can handle up to an amp@4.8 volts, so you could have a helluva bitcharger.
I want to get a small chassis and biuld one of these with my GWS gear...showing all those Z-racers shnooks who only get premade stuff and would'nt solder an FET for their lives what real elbow grease can do would be a hoot. What would be even greater than that? Simple-a 4-cell FET'ed ZZSE with a 4.0 motor and corrected steering. C'mon, you have to admit that being able to beat a car 4x as big would be gobs of fun.
