Been to HK and got my mini's

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

Been to HK and got my mini's

Post by TeamBonzer »

OK dudes

so teambonzer has been on tour - 2.5 days in hong kong is a short stay, but still time to play :-D

Met Steve at Toyeast (really nice guy - even bought me lunch). Picked up my boxed set of 20 mini's - opinion - Bonzer! - paint work is first class, chrome where chrome should be, working lights (headlights on all and roof lights as well for police cars - for the cars without a roof light, the wiring is in place so I guess you could add your own extra lights somewhere else.

Handle really well, fast out of da box, ran for 10 mins on first single charge.

Auto slow down on turning is cool.

Nuff said - top cars.

As soon as I get time I will film them racing against bits and zips so that you can compare. Also picked up one of them micro wireless vid cameras (10mmx10mm), already strapped it to a zz and tested on track - should make for some nice "in da cab" vids - watch this space.

PS the micro pro 4.2 motors he sells go like stink (thats good, for you yanks :-) ), even with the camera and a 9v battery the zz rocks.

Good stuff man Good stuff.

Could I bother you for a good pic of the ZZ with the mini cam?

I have tried to mount mine for ever but with the 9V bat just seems to be to big.

Now I have it mounted on a mini z but would much rather have it on a zz/bit.

So whats the progresss on the Matt? Did you get a chance to show the boys at TE?

Keep us posted

Yep, Steve liked the mat a lot, (in fact he dissed my web site saying that it didn't do the mat any justice!). He also hooked me up with one of his suppliers so that we can work together on getting the best price from China.

It was a wierd trip :D in a lot of respects - I was sitting in the bar of the hotel on the first night, got chatting to a couple of Germans, only turns out that one of them is a buyer for walmart germany - so chilled brain ticks over slowly, suggests he look at mat, set up mat in bar of 5* hotel, have race and buyer asks if i would be kind enough to let Wal-Mart Germany buy some

Isn't it cool how quoting out of context can seem to change the meaning :-D

Your right the 9V battery is a problem (if anyone out there knows a better way to get 200mW 8V to the camera, please let me know) - but I just took the body off and ducktaped the battery to the chassis - bit top heavy for turning - Ill get some pics, probably tomorrow.

Cheers

That was a good deal  . I got mine for about $28HK (colour 400 lines, with receiver). They are great fun and would recommend them. They cost nearly £200  in our local component store (maplins).

I think it would be bettter to make a custom body for the camera then it would be to try and find(and have to rewire the connector) a battery that will work with good results
