LXX char g beetles

What do you think about the beetles, they come with lights and tow shells for a pritty good price, but will they perform

They are good cars for LXX but you can only use the beetle body on that chassie as the lights are mounted strange.
If you want the lights then go for it if you just want the beetles then get the other ones they have for like $14.00. then you will get 4 bodies 2 chassies and 2 extra 4.2's

I don't care much for LXX Boosters, but for that price how can you go wrong.
The bodies look cool, and I'd like to check out how they went about making the lights light up when you drive.

can the lights come off the beetle and go on something else and are the chassis a normal size??

I am sure if you really wanted to you could remove the lights and put them on another chassie. The chassie they come on is normal size. Its the pbc for the lights that makes it hard to get other bodies on as its made just the right size for the beetle.
I am sure crazydave or ph2t could do something with them.
Looks like teh light pbc is just soldered to the same place as the motor is so when you give power to motor in fwd/rev it will also give power toe the lights.

Thanks again voodoo, i might order one from toyeast, i got a plist going now of things im going to get all at once save shipping.
I dont think ill be able to do a lot with the lights as i will end up messing something up but hopeful someone who is used 2 this kinda thing will post a tut or some thing

Hey VDM, how bright are those lights?
That looks like it might be fun to play with. I'm thinking about ordering one of those. Be nice to have the extra Beetle bodies to hack up.

Its a good deal for the price I tossed a 4.2 pro and 8.25:1 gears and it moves nice(this one is prolly on its way to you hehe).
One thing I noticed is the paint sucks on them, well atleast it did on the white one I have. After a few crashes and flips it eneded up being an almost all clear body. But I am sure this wont bother you dave as you will prolly just repaint it anyway
