ya know DT, I agree, there's a rush of interests in the SE's, but after having mine now for about 2 weeks.
I can honestly say it will never replace my bits (just as I said in the beginning). The SE's are cool, but only to a degree - bits still stomp them in just about every aspect that concerns me.

I think this "fad" will fade out, SE's need another version before they can even begin to contend with bits.

now my next gripe...
since the SE's - I haven't heard shiat about Super Bits, wots the dealio? lol

I keep meaning to get a super bit but people keep telling me to stay away for now.

I hear they have buttons on top they have no use (as of yet)???

yea, right now I don't think the buttons are used at all.
don't get me wrong, super bits and bits in general could use some improvements as well, but overall - as it stands now, I like my bits better than my zipzaps.

I gotta get me a super bit still too

Damn bit lovers. :x
I'm happy with the se, I can't say the same about my super bit char-g. :-)
Wanna give us those aspects that concern you bro?
All you gotta do is show some love to yer se just like them lil bits get. The only problem I got with the ses is the damn runtimes. :x

to be honest, there's quite a lot I don't like about the se's.
I admit, I am totally biased, but I feel these coming thoughts are objective and based on un-biased opinion...

- its a frickin tank, the thing weighs about as much as my real car! lol
- accelleration is near non-existant (probably mostly due to the weight as mentioned above), it can't climb even a quarter of the grade my bits can.
- speaking strictly of the Savannah (sp?) se (as that's the only one I own), I'm very dis-appointed in the proportional steering, sounds like most everyone else is/was as well. I still can't get exact same amounts of propo to both sides, one always has just slightly better than the other.
- the controller can't even charge the car to capacity in 2 charges, and of course zipzaps don't charge on anything but a zipzap controller.
- the cars are obviously far less modifiable.

that's what I notice with my zipzaps, however I'm sure others are quite different. I'm just saying that I'm convinced that bits are much better for me and my concerns, and I believe they will always be the #1 choice for me. I'm sure that's opposite for others.

Hater.
It's all good bro. All these lil cars have their issues. I'm just sayin don't write the se off as a "fad" just yet. :-)

lol I am dude, you're right - but hey "I stay true to my roots"
that one work? lol

and yea, totally - they all do have their issues fo sho.

I guess when I said "fad" instead of referring to the se's in particular, I was meaning the sudden and utterly undying attention the se's are getting right now - I coulda made that more clear.
I just believe this "big interest" will slow, just as all things do, but not go away by any means, just like bits, cowboys, disco, and golf (god I wish golf would hurry up and die for a bit  )

so yea, in long - I'm not saying the zips are a fad, hey their a part of the same hobby I'm diggin on right now.

are you tring to say that disco and cowboys were just fads?

I thought it was cool to be a disco cowboy :???:

No wonder why people look at point damn it....DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!!!

Now imo they both just as good as the other dependsing on what you want to do.

See cause only RS sells the ZZ stuff and not in Canada its easyer for me to get bit/clone stuff buy ordering over seas.

buts I must thanks sessiz for hookin a pimp up with se stuff :-)

I'm not an SE hater, but I'm definately not a SE lover either.

Steering kinda irks me, but with some tweaking, I've got it pretty good. What's getting to me is the complete, and total lack of power. The weights not helping, but the real issue is the power is just not getting to the motor. There's and H-bridge on the output that I've full mosfet modded, and that improves power, but it seems the power is not even making it to the H-bridge. I'm working on 2 things, first finding, and indentifying the A/D/A converter, and seeing if it can be replaced with a more powerful replacement. If that don't work, I'm gonna see if there is a way I can bypass the PCB when the car hits full throttle.

If I can just eek a little more power out of this thing, I would absolutely love it. Now the ugly ass bodies, that's another story. Good thing I bought extra muscle car bodies.

Super-bits on the other hand are almost perfect, the bodies look great. I'll tell ya, I only have to paint and modify my bodies, because I'm not that in to RX-7s, and S2000s, etc. etc., but the Countach, one of my all time favorites, the Porshe 911, another all time favorite. The Jota? stunning beauty, I'd never touch these bodies. Then we get to the chassis, obviously designed for better handling, and it does handle great. The PCB is really powerful, and punchy. The Super bit w/ the 4.2 bundle from Toyeast would be the perfect car, that I would never need to modify, except for one thing, that damn glitch where it just keeps going when it loses the signal. That one issue has become such an issue, I don't use my Super-bits at all, and I feel like I wasted my money.

At least the SE doesn't seem like a waste of money, to me anyways.

I'm not sure where I stand on any of this, I just know my mosfet modded Microsizer, with the 911 body, pullback tires, and 4.2 pro, is my favorite car.

Me too Dave... My biggest issue is the lack of torque, and the weight.. Other than that, I like em.. I tested the range on my SE last night to see just how good the range is, and it's freaky long. It gets about 50 - 60 feet, but my souped Fairlady with alloys is still my favorite car hands down..

silla :D

Well, you all should know by now that I'm a Zip man. I've tried getting into the Bits and even purchased a Super Bit, but I always come back to the Zips. I'll admit that the SE's have their faults, but for $5 more than a normal Zip, IMO it's worth the price. I'm sure we will go through the same ole' generations of PCB's, etc. and hopefully they will work the kinks out. I just like the realistic look of the Zips (other than the off road style of the SE's).

Fellas, dunno if you know about this but there is a fix to do with the mis-aligned steering on the SE's. Check it here:
