Title: RCPics.net Announces a policy change for remote linking of images.
As many of you may have already noticed, RCPics has begun blocking remote linking of images, similar to what other free image hosting sites have set up in the past.
RCPics.net will remain a free site with no pop-up ads, but you will no longer to be able to remotely link to your images from your favorite sites and message forums unless your site administrator has contacted RCPics to arrange a subscription to our remote linking service.
It pains me to do this, but it is a reality of running an immensly popular service. We are out of bandwidth and I am unwilling to spend any more money out of my own pocket than I already do to provide this service. I make absolutely no money on RCPics.net, donations have been very slim, and advertisers have been difficult to convince of the value RCPics.net can provide. My choices were to either scrap RCPics.net as a whole or work on a model that maintains a site that is free to the users for most needs, but allows me to control the amount of bandwidth utilized by remote linking.
I have grandfathered in a few select sites that have been very influential in making RCPics.net a success:
Affordable Nitro Tech Racing, Ultimate R/C and WildHobbies, so remote linking of images is still allowed on these particular sites and their respective forums.
