my idea is to wire up the pcb to the bit and then its should work...

well brendan...
the whole point of this is to prove that technology advances faster than we think it does.
think about it,
in 5 yrs there will be voice controlled(vc) everything!
vc bathtubs
vc toilets
vc shotguns
vc pistols
ok, i went a little outta hand, but you get the point, right?

so you want a "guru" to give you free information so you can sell something for outrageous prices? id say if you are doing something commercial do it yourself.

I think if the idea really lies purely in potentially advancing the hobby / technology / education / etc. go for it, learn from it, inspire with it, whatever.

I could see the bit being voice controlled, but the really huge challenge would get it to be voice controlled while remaining user friendly, easy to use, and fun to drive.
It seems to me, one of the first big hurdles would be the whole idea of commanding and controlling the car with just voice.

if you just say "go" is it full on balls to the wall forward?
then if you say "left" does it just turn the wheels left for a milli-second? or does it hold left until you give it another command?
that type thing.

Ya that probably would get annoying. It is a cool idea though!

actully, i think one of the first micro cars from TOMY was voice control. u talk into a walkie-talkie. and the car will responde to it. i saw a pic of it somewhere on the web, it was a NSX cop car. but now i lost the track of it. but i will keep searching to let u guys know.

how micro was it again?
bcuz nowadays, altho 'walkietalkkies'
are getting smaller,
they are also losing at how far they can be apart to receive
reception from the other(s) walkie talkies.
they way im doin it is that you can control it from anywhere, just
as long as you can yell to it from wherever you are
