Got my VW bus today
Man, I love this thing, so I just had to show it off.
There's not too many minuses on mine so I'll cover that first.
The only major defect on it is a warped axle gear, and crooked wheel. Despite this it's not too noisy, and runs straight. I always rebuild my rear axles anyways. My other bitch is that it was advertised 5 min. charge 20 min. runtime. In the package it says 3 min. charge 10 min. runtime. I hook it up, it charges for 45 secs. Nice guys. Aparently numbers mean nothing over there.
On the plus, these sit damn low, look cool as hell, have nice details, handles great, and are fairly fast out of the package. I actually made several laps, thinking it was ok, but not great, until I remembered it was a 2-speed. So I hit the button, and the bitch kicked in. I turned the boost fuction off, and it was all downhill. The clear chassis, and lights are cool.
I think after I fix the axle this will be my new favorite car.
I don't know why I can't take a decent picture of it though

Damn CD , after seeing and hearing about yours , you got me on pins and needles waiting for mine to get here.
Looks sweet as is , it scares me to think what it will look like after you put your magic touch on it.

People are like slinkies..... they are the most fun when you push them down stairs.

vw caps
here is the vw like the one i shaved the vw hub caps off of. I had to do some careful shaveing with the xacto hobbie saw. you could easily make them work as i did no problems.

Thanks for the hook up.
That's actaully kind of a nice die cast, I'd hate to kill that just for the wheels, but I'd do it.
Just got done running my bus again. Damn this is fun, I should have got two. I stuck a 4.2 in it, and it gets a little tippy with the xtra weight of the body, but I was only able to flip it once.
The bumpers are held on by little pins, and they slip right off. You might want to take them off when you run. It only took me a couple laps with the 4.2 to rip them right off. I glued them back on, but it looks kinda cool with the bumpers stripped.

Ugh! I've been trying to hold off on getting one of these...or buying any more bits right now for that matter. But every time someone posts a photo...I want it.....thanks CD. Actually Dave, those photos are pretty good. The paint on those things looks really glossy and it looks like there are a hell of a lot of nice details.....grrrr...
Now, what else can I order from toyeast when I get one? Hmmmm....

Actually I should mention the paint is kinda dull looking. I just rubbed it out with some Meguiers car polish. If anyone wants to try that, be very careful, as it would too easy to rub through the thin factory finish.Sdog wrote:Actually Dave, those photos are pretty good.
