Just don't use Testors putty. Its grainy and dries too fast. Total crapola.

i use the squadron putty. i think the squadron has a consistancy of the putty u can get from the hardware store to fill nail holes on your wall and such, i never tried it but bet it would be ok.

I use Squadron putty as well and sometimes a 2 part epoxy.

I use this. Then in areas where more strenghth is needed, I let some super glue soak into it after it dries to the touch, but before I sand. This stuff is lighter than air.

i use a nice putty called, green stuff. a company called games workshop make it. it is designed for detailing warhammer minatures wich are pretty small.

i highly recomend this for doing bit mods...

i use superglue for small stuff and for larger areas i'll cut a bit of plastic to roughly the shape and glue in place. for minor stuff it's a cycle of undercoat and sanding.

you could pull off perfection though I know - if you wanted...
what you do already requires perfection, so the paint and trimming is just another step in the whole process.
all you had to do was trim that bed piece and smooth it out...
go all the way next time, I know it's in you - just not that big of a priority yet, but it will be.

Also, i know you pimps have scratched your bodies up while sanding...
so, do you guys use the putty for that, too? Or do you guys use something else?

After it's roughed in with putty, use primer to get the surface ready for paint. Primer will get rid of scratches... you may have to use a couple coats with some fine-grit wet sanding between coats.

To get rid of really fine scratches, like hue said, use paint primer. The only thing I would add is that the sandpaper you need to use at that stage is really, really, fine. Like the kind you can't get at the hardware store, but at the hobby store.
