hi pimps :-)

just wanted to throw this in, my latest project is a 60 Impala.
I have yet to decide if i am going to lengthen the chassis or leave as is, maybe it will look ok after the side skirt is molded in the rear and the molding added, this may take away from the eye being drawn to the short chassis, we will see when it starts comeing together.

here is what i ended up with when i decided to shorten the body instead of lengthen the chassis. i think that it looks proportional now, also did some work on the fins...

That is awesome, j. I'm a HUUUUUUUGE Impala fan.

I'm just wondering how you are going to pull off the "bubble top" front window... I'm sure you got it covered, though.

Put me on the waiting list for one of those if you're gonna cast some.

There is a lot of detail in that Impala....this should be interesting to watch. Looking forward to see how this one turns out.

 Holy Fuck!

OK spill it, how did you make the soon to be cromed out details J? Where the ripped off of a diecast or are they scratch built?!? That is looking to be just brilliant! Just do us all a favor and use different rims, those will stick out bad. Does anyone have some of those multi spoked gold alloys kickin around? That's what this pimp-mobile needs.

SCRATCH BUILT all the way

you actually cant really see the grill, but i took the xzcto knife and some clay, i flattened out the clay and then i rolled the dimpled area of the xacto knife into the clay and then i took some wood glue and spread it unto the clay and when it dried i pealed it off and cut to shape then clued it onto the front, finished texture is a mesh grill.

I have a set *cough2sets!cough* of the 10mm Scala BBS on stash waiting for just such a shell... They are too wide(at least, the way they come) to stuff under a low-low like this... BUT... and here is the big but... One of the sets was partially built by the previous owner, and is missing one of the back pieces... I've been considering tearing them down and redoing them incorporating ZZ hubs for the backs... If j. is kind enough to make molds of this shell available for purchase, I would SURELY build that set like that and narrow them and the tires down to tuck in under there...

And to anyone who was gettin' ready to ask.... No, the other set is not for sale... I have something cookin' for those, too :???:

Oh hell yeah...Jmays, I know you were a little worried about whether or not you needed to stretch the chasis for this shell....but that seems to be shaping up just fine.
