What's with the plastic looking rib tires? Are these carpet munchers, or can they be driven on any surface?
SE's rule huh? I thought I'd never hear that one. When they first came out, all I ever heard was complaints. I had a first gen and it never gave me any problems. It was slow as shit, but it worked fine.

When SE's are working correctly, they are a lot of fun to drive because of their steering and control. The only real down side to them at this point is the high profile of the chassis and the goofy looking shells they are making for them (SE muscle car bodies excluded).
Throw a fatty tire set on them and pop in the purple motor and have fun.

the tires are actually soft rubber, but you're right; there's a rib molded in the center. i never figured out why though. boley (the mfgr) makes a line of 1/55th regular diecast cars (like hotwheels) and uses the same bodies. not sure which came first but the diecast cars also has the ridge molded in hard plastic.HirotoR34 wrote:What's with the plastic looking rib tires? One of the danish pimps has one of those ...
He says it is slow as shit .. Like 5 km/h, and cant drive in anything that just looks like carpet.
Heres a pic:

He also states that it takes a LOOOONG time to reach 5 km/h.

Sorry to bring back this thread from the dead
BUT ,
I baught one of these back in may and they are ok.
The tires are quite hard and spin out , but once they are sanded a bit they scuff up ok and not so much spinning out .Still able to do donuts .
They are infact VERY SLOW . exept if you take of that chunky die-cast body , they double in speed. Then you get the speed of maybe a 1.0 motor or slightly more.
the chassis seems ok allthough i havent really investigated it yet .
its just like an enlarged bit , but it has 3 cogs on the axle plus the pinion.
wheras a bit has 2.If anyone is interested il take some pics for you all.

Anyone know if you can swap in a Bit motor for more power/speed, or are the motors not compatible?
Might just pick up some stuff for my new superslicks instead.

They have hardwired motors , but depending on how far you want to go ,
you "COULD" just make it into a endbell connection ( like a standard bit )
but you would have to be carefull !
I think i underestimated it first , once with the body of i think you have at least a 2.2 power motor or over . im going to try find a plastic body that fits mine .I have had no problems so far , and as far as im concerned they are good little cars , pistol grip controll is a good thing , also a brake button wich saves you having to hit reverse .So i would give them 7/10 due to the fact you cant use bit parts ( as far as i know ) but the body's are super detailed.
thanks ,

I bought one at Kay-Bee Toys for $7.50. They were normally $14.95, but I found a couple miss-priced.
The controller feels and looks like a 3rd rate stage prop of a futuristic laser gun from a 'B' Sci-Fi flick. I kept pulling the little steering-wheel off while racing. The throttle deal is way thinner and cheaper than a ZZSE throttle, causing slight discomfort after a few minutes.
The body does way a TON. It is well detailed.
Gives you options for 5,10,15 min. charges, of course leading to longer run times.
It corners like shit. Acceleration is not incremented at all.
Brake button is cool, until you realize that while traveling in reverse, the car somehow has 'trouble' steering. Hence, on the controller, there are 2 other seperate buttons, one for 'steer left' and one for 'steer right'. The directions/instructions indicate that these buttons are exactly for that. I found that pressing these buttons while going in reverse worked alright.....but why? I mean......why?
It sucks batteries like a cheap.....ya know.
There's more I think, I'm bored talking about it.
Perhaps I should have kept it for maybe parts or modding, but my nephew took interest in it, and I gave it to him.
That was my experience, maybe I'm missing something.....

bold - something i didnt know , il try that .
my wheel always comes off , so i decided to epoxy it on .
once the body is off its cool , i painted the rims and added big tires on the rear , and then some treaded bit tires on the front , now works well on carpet .I plan to use it just as a "carpet toy " (playing around when bored)
