Hi, im a newbie and i have been pointlesly fiddling with my bit and think i have a serious problem.

1. I have snapped the plastic clip on the back of the bit where the heat sinc clips onto.

2. In my best motor, the small metal peice that touches where the motor fits in the back has snapped off.

Could someone please inform me, on how to fix any of these or notify me if they are unfixable.

peace

the motor is a goner, the tab can be fixed.

if you still have the plastic tab, you can try to superglue it back on - I've done that several times.

Thanks, Have tried to superglue several times and it just comes undone every time.

what a bummer man. Now i cant run it at all, because the motor is not pushed down by anything.

well the little neighbor kid next door to me broke off a rear clip one of my cars as well.
just to get it running right there, I stuffed the antenna through the back slot on the car and forced the body on.
this made the antenna sit over the heatsink and push it down as the antenna was fed out the back slot of the body.

it's messy, but it worked.

oh I'm sure the range wasn't as good as before, but it did work for a temporary fix.

It's a tricky problem, but it can be solved. Glue by itself will not hold, so I usually add a small piece of styrene or other plastic as a brace or reinforcement. Because the plastic you add affects the shape or size of the tab, you have to consider how it fits into the slot in bodies. I usually tab-lower the rear while I'm at it and add the extra plastic under the original tab, glue everything solid and then carve away excess plastic so it will fit in the slot. I usually do the carving with the motor and heat sink in place so I don't eliminate the part that's holding the motor clip in place.

you could wrap wire around it to hold it in, just don't thread it around the axle.

Cheers guys,
I have managed to clip the heatsinc down on the left of the gap now.Therfore it stays in place and the arial still sticks through,That way there's no interfierence,And no messy glue jobs.

peace out,
J
