Could be you signal, but I'd be willing to bet it's a machinal problem with you car.
Sounds to me like either your magnet has come loose, or you may have gathered some debris in there. Either way you'll have to take the front end of your car apart.
After you've checked that the magnet is secure, and reglued it, if necessary. Clean out any dirt that may have gathered in there. Then if you are still having problems, you can isolate it to your signal.

I'd follow crazydave's advice.
Depending on the version, I might also check the steering wires.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

I pulled out my 1st Tomy Booster, LadyZ and started running it.
It would turn left but wouldn't turn right. Now this car has very low milage but has been
sitting for a long time. Picked up the car to see if it reacted the same in the
air as it did on the floor, still wouldn't turn. Broke it down to discover the
chrome that was on the magnet had broken up come loose. I cleaned
everything out and replace with an REM. Problem solved.
Not saying that this will solve your problem but who'da guessed
