Atomic Z-craft

I finally got a RC hovercraft!!! its fun, slips n slides... *drift*

its got: dual NiMh pack, dual microsizer size thrust motors, a fairly large lift fan and motor, three channels (one to turn off the lift).

charging takes 15 minutes!!!!! you only get 3-5 minute run time, which sux.. But the 3-5 minutes is really really fun, so its almost worth it.

It does not hover on water, on the package it says it does... it has a piece of foam in it, you turn the lift fan on low, it floats and acts like an airboat.

anyone else got one of these things?

i think ph2t has one in the mail.

so does the main fan have different speed settings? how many, like 2?

the main switch on the back puts the fan on high/low... low, you will probably never use. theres a big O chunk of foam inside the skirt that i took out, it was there to keep it afloat when the fans on low and your in water...

this thing can hover on sand!!! but it works better on fairly smooth concrete er anything else smooth. ph2t will definately like it... its fun! but one thing i think is a must: a standalone charger. the charger in the controller has 4 AAA batteries with a relay to switch on charging...

When you get it up to about half speed (which is fast) and hit the dif thrust, it spins so fast, and before you hit anything, you flip off the lift, and it stops.. freakin cool...

Im bringing my craft back cause i dont think i conditioned the batteries right, so they wont hold a charge anymore (oops)... oh well, its first day, so they'll take it back.

Is this thing in the relm of 1:64 or are we talking about the large ones here?

they're small... not quite 1/64, but 5" long (13cm) and 4" wide (10cm)...
Small for a hovercraft...

Finks, you ever hear of the Z-cars? bits made by atomic toys? well they have Z-planes, *Z-craft*, Z-jet, Z-cars.... list goes on.. basically they all have bit/zip style controls and electronics.

EDIT: heres where i bought it... http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/595355.asp

$15 because they have a memorial day sale going on right now

EDIT AGAIN: Im not returning the thing, theres nothing wrong with it. the charger is so inefficient, you only get like 3-4 good runs... I built a stand alone charger, charges in 10 minutes, gives a 10 minute run time. maybe 5 minutes if your rough on it... seriously, i made food and ate it while i was playing with the thing... it kept going and going.
