What's the diff?

General discussions, new info, and all stuff that's how you say, off the hook. Bit, ZZ, SE, MT, SS... as long as it's micro, it's here.

What's the diff?

What's the difference between the Super Bit Char-G and the non Supers? :)

What is the R/C Microsizer Pro in relationship to the Char-Gs?

Thanks,

Well this info is all out there, but I'll save you the search and sum it up briefly.

You got your basic Bit Char-G, then Microsizer is the officially licensed 'merican version. The Pro adds the 2 speed booster, which some like, but most don't. Super Bit Char-Gs are second generation bits, with redesigned, better handling chassis, Nicer wheels in differnt styles, nice looking controller, and they put more punch to the motor. They are probably most notable for the beautiful classic sports car bodies. They only draw back is the if there is glitch the circuitry remembers the last command, which means your can could suddenly take off, and blast full throttle into a corner, or be stuck turning when you trying to go straight. Really annoying. Been meaning to transplant a standard bit PCB into one of these, just never got around to it.

It would seem that Tomy abandoned the Super Bits, as nothing was ever done with the extra buttons on the controller, and these were the last realeases we saw from Tomy, something like over 2 years ago.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

Thanks a lot. I'm hoping that the bit PCB can handle lipo power. My MT eats it up. Started work on that motor today. I decided to rewind the motor in 30 gauge magnet wire. I'm thinking 10-12 turns should work for me. I am having trouble remembering which wires hook where on the comm attachment. heh. Weird brushes. They use 1 piece of wire to wind these (machine wound) so it is kind of hard to tell what goes where. When I finished 1 motor it wouldn't spin all the time (had to push start it), and it was very slow. I believe I mounted the wires on the wrong areas since the motor brushes are on the top and bottom (as opposed to the sides).

I'll report in ASAP SIR! :)

Later,

I've been meaning to start a thread similar to this one.

The same questions, to boost or not to boost? Super Bits or regular?
Preference of all, some, or one?

I didn't catch that 'glitch' with the Super Bits while reading through the threads CD, that's good to know about those.
Is that glitch somewhat rare?

I love the 2-speed turbos. It seems like it gives you that much more control over the Bit. It's one more step of 'interactive' for me.
I've never internally modded a Bit as of yet, so perhaps the preferences lie there.

Or is it like an analogy where a seasoned football player loves the feel of an older football, even though newer different footballs are available?

I know what I like NOW. But as I get more integrated into the hobby, I'd like to make sure I'm making meanwhile purchases for the future.
I'm 3 months old to all of this, so I'm still impressionable.

So much knowledge lies with experience; I've read the threads, and am ready to listen.....

Nah, it's in every SuperBit, at least from my experience.

I like the 2-speeds for some tracks (mine especially), I feel it gives me that much more control. But I use crazydave's Anti-Boost Mod:

I forgot to mention that. I'm on it.

Got a five pack of RS 271-1321 1k-Ohm resistors 1/4 watt.
And solder.
I'm ready to trash some controllers with my solder training.
