Q: What micro is this for?
Q: Wouldn't the white gears in the middle need to be bevel?
I have no idea what else to ask cuz I don't know much about this stuff.

Q 1... im gonna have to design a custom chassis cause this thing will be needing some trick gearwork, as there is no room to place a reduction gear.
Q 2... they mesh JUUUST fine! here, check it.

I assume you're gonna do a custom chassis, like your guitarwire one you never finished?.
Looks good so far, what did you source those from? slotcars?

that's gonna take some work but it'll be worth it!
might i suggest a thin washer between the two pinion gears to allow them to slip past each other easily. just get a leather punch and make your on outta scrap plastic

evoraptor: the metal things are "BALL-BEARINGS", not sure if you ever heard of them, but they lower friction.
frizzo: i got the gears from the tanks... and for the custom chassis, only the rear clip... its probably gonna go into my SE.
betty: more friction might be a little better, but i doubt that part is even a concern.
to all: the only problem im looking into right now is that drive gear sorta flops one side to the other because there are 2 pinions and not the usual 3... so i need to build 2 large washers that ride on the axle gears to help keep that drive gear straight. hehe, or i could just go the cheap way, only use one... i'll try that first...

Pretty good start! I didn't know tanks had cup gears like those.
Looks like there's gonna be an interference issue with the spur gear and the idler gear (if used) because of how thick the spiders are.

yeah, that was another main concern i have to face. I was thinking to solve it by placing a shaft going from the center to one side, pinion in center meshes with axle/drive gear, on the end of the shaft is the reduction (idler) gear which is driven by the motor as designed in all micro RC's. not sure if you can picture that but im sure i can rig something to that effect to show ya'll...
EDIT: heres a pic the pinion to spur gear design.. (maybe i can toss that onto bearings too)

Ah, sweet. I wasn't sure if you were gonna do something like that or drop in a ZZ-M motor for enough torque to delete the idler.
What gear reduction ratio is that new idler setup gonna run?

They mesh good but you'll need a tiny slim washer to reduce friction
between the two. Great Job !

Honestly, that much friction is not an issue lol...
First things first, I have to find a better shaft for the pinions (AKA: spiders) to ride on. I used a solid-core wire, stripped it, glued the ends to the drive gear, pinions ride on the wire, and as you can see, theres plenty of slop... the trick is to keep the drive gear from moving, and with my approach, is near impossible. Either a major rework is in order, or the project gets dropped...
Buuuuuut.... Since I'de like to impress a little more and get another project outta the way, I think im gonna have to finish this little guy. Only after I get good with my new baby! lol, I bought a mini-heli. Got maybe an hours fly time in, and I'm learning...
Heres the plan for the diff: I get a tube of some kind. Place the drive gear onto the tube, epoxy the SOB. The tube's inner walls should barely fit onto the cup gears. I'm going to have to cut a little space on 2 sides inside the tube to allow more room for the spiders. Mount the bearings on the chassis with all of this sandwiched between... Reduction/transfer gear-set will have a tube to ride in... Voila! A differentail!
Need some crafting help!!! How can I place an idler
AND pinion onto the same shaft. I think I would need to bore the pinion a little, but I don't have drill bits that small... Sooooo, any suggestions?
