Two dolla and fifty cent Zip Zap MTs!!!!!!!!!!
PSYCH!
Yeah that's what f'in RS did to me today.
Spider Man MTs, $2.50, was $9.99. Lady said, "Can I help you?", and I said, "Is this real, or a misprint?". She takes a closer look, and says, "No I guess thats right."
So even my wife is getting excited, she was ready to buy 'em out for my kid and our nephew, but there was only 2, and I wanted one too.
So we go to ring them up, and its $12.50. She goes to the manager, and its like oops that was a mistake.
I knew it had to be a mistake, so I wasn't phased, ut I get home, and I get the thinking, you know, don't they have to honor a advertised price? I double checked before I approach the counter even. My kid was a little bummed too, he had been carrying his around the store. I was gonna get some gear sets or something, but ended up getting nothing, wasting my time, because I was a little irritated with being led on too,
I kinda thinking with a little bitching, I could maybe get my kid a cheap ass MT out of this...
...but is it worth it.

If I had any IW-02 CB's I'd run down a buy a few at that price. Wonder if the clearance means that a SE version is comming?

You know Dave, the only catch to that is that the merchandise itself has to be marked in order to get it at that price. Other wise they can blame it on "misprint" and in this case the "1" was left out.don't they have to honor a advertised price?
$12.50 ain't bad, half price! I may pick one up now
I know the website had them for thaprice but wasn't aware the stores

Nah, I posted here on purpose. I didn't really consider this a Hook up, actually more of an annoyance, and that's what this thread is about, my annoyance.LBRC wrote:Woops posted in the wrong spot
Now that I think of it $12.50 aint bad.
Yeah, you know legally you're probably right, but from my point of view it went beyond a simply forgetting a "1", because it specifically said the Spider man MT, and that it was marked down from $9.99. Furthermore, and most importantly to me, I asked if it was correct. I could look atthe tag and see what it said myself. I didn't ask the lady to confirm what it said, I asked if it was correct. So we had a verbal agreement from my point of view.DarlTari wrote:You know Dave, the only catch to that is that the merchandise itself has to be marked in order to get it at that price. I'm not really gonna pursue it, but seriously, I do feel I was done a dis-service, as I didn't really didn't believe the price until a salesperson confirmed it. You just can't lead a guy on like that. Its not right.

lol, news to all of you, they HAVE to honor the price regardless. it's called "bait and switch". whoever does it can get a MAJOR FINE$$!!!
Thats sorta like you get an add in the mail for Wal-Mart, $20 for a bicycle, you get there and it turns out its $200... misprint maybe but it could be an attempt to get you into the store, or get you to buy it anyway because your all psyched...
I would go back and demand the ZZM's for that price, use the "im gonna have to call the Better Business Bureau because thats BS using bait and switch on a CHILD!!"

But is it an actual Law? The merchant doesn't have total control over what the advertisers print. If it's marked in the store, they DO have total control, therefore it is law that they honor THAT price.Nasphere wrote:lol, news to all of you, they HAVE to honor the price regardless. it's called "bait and switch". whoever does it can get a MAJOR FINE$$!!!

Here in the land of Oz, if an advertiser fucks up, then the merchant must honor the advertised price, unless they have a clearly visible retraction at the entry to the store, mentioning the name of the item incorrectly advertised, the catalogue/advert in which it appeared, the price it was incorrectly listed for and the correct price.DarkTari wrote:

It should (hopefully) be the same over there.

If the price is marked in the store the store should honor the price. If it's an advert in a newspaper misprint then they have to tell the people on the way in the store.
In PA it's not an actual law about honoring the price it's just good buisness pratice.

YUP ! If it's marked like that, that is the price they HAVE TO sell it to you.crazydave wrote:This was marked in the store, so you saying now I am entitled to a $2.50 MT?DarkTari wrote: If it's marked in the store, they DO have total control, therefore it is law that they honor THAT price.
Because that's the way I always thought it worked with that bait and switch stuff.
I've been there many times with oher merchants with no problem. They fix it after me but I still get the deal.

Yeah, most of the RS's by me aren't aware of the $12.49 sale or the buy one get one 1/2 off sale. But if you have them scan it, it should come up right.HirotoR34 wrote:You guys must be lucky cause I stopped at RS yesterday and everything was full price. But it is true that they can't advertise one price and charge another
