Never went to production? Sounds about right...but $20.00 for a body + s/h 
I bought two of these at a yard sale from a ex-Radio Shack employee who told me that this model was NEVER put into production. So, me being the skeptic, I searched on the web and to my suprise....I did not find a single one!! This is not the "HERBIE" VW bug! But please don't take my word for it, try to find another one on the web.
* It is in MINT condition. I gave one to a friend of mine that is a VW Bug FANATIC and the other I am putting up for auction.

well I think I will pass on that one I like the body but not enough to drop that kind of cash on it!

VW didn't like the way it looked, so the would'n give RS the go ahead on it. I remember when that happened, and Tomy beat em to the punch.

I didn't like the body either, but for some reason VW gave the go-ahead for putting the WaterBug into production anyway! I don't see where they got off saying something that bulbous and ugly wasn't true enough to their real car.

Where as I totally agree with everything ya wrote, I remember seeing pics of the shell on a chassis and it looked far too long. (extended like)

i like the body, would be nice to be able to roll over and land back on the wheels every time

You know what? Fuck that dude! Why? Cuase he's asking for US $199.99 as a buy it now price.
Asshole can keep that shit, here I am thinking that $20 was alot for a piece of shit body but from a collectors POV I can understand $20.

Anyhow, yeah it looks like ass, and yeah thats a lot of money for a shell, but I wouldn't be supprised if due to the rarity somone gets it.

$200 what the hell thats like way to damn much for a shell i wouldnt even pay $15 maybe $10 but that be tops. The biggest thing i see wrong with the body is its not round or domeish enough course that results of the body being to long.

One of the RS stores near my work had a spot on ths shelf marked for the VW. It was up for months and of course they never got them in.
