I'm working on a halftrack but I'm having issues finding a suitable tank tread to replace the rear wheels.

Anyway, all 6 wheels are powered by a single motor with 83:1 gearing.
Front 2 wheels articulate, back 4 are solid and will eventually wear
a tank tread.

Body is two hummers puttied together and painted the typical
flat olive drab. Still need to paint the white star on the sides, smooth out
and paint the body trim and drill out a bunch of holes for the lights.

Electronics will be my typical propo ZZMT formula: 145mah kokam lipo,
Novak Spy esc, GWS Pico RX, JR-15 Servo, Airtronics MX-3 TX, and a
Black zzmt style motor from an air hogs plane. But until I gut the front
section for the servo, Ive been rocking the stock zzmt board with a lipo
and it has been working great.

Scisors...heat...a couple regular zzmt treads.....and glue/rubber cement=Tank tread.

(WARNING-this method may only be possible in my head)

Well that's a pretty sick creation.

I'm not totally sure what sessiz is thinking, but I did cut and super glue the tread on a Motorworks tank, to tighten them, and they held up fine. Super glue bonds superbly to rubber.

if you can hunt down a tamiya track and wheel set then the tracks might be good for you. they're 18mm wide (nearly 3/4inch) and come in sections of varying lengths so you can get the right track length.

for your tank treads you can pick up a nikko truck with tank treads. like the one in thislink

I'm thinking you would need more weight over the front half cause steering the beast without diffs in the back's gonna be a bear!!

Still needs some work, you can see the novak spy on/off switch
taped to the rear, and the body still needs more paint, but everything fits
and runs fine.

Wow man, that thing looks cool as shit in action... can't wait to see this one finished up. Nice work as always.

Im thinking about getting that plastic tread that betty.k suggested and
then inlay each link with a thin slice of rubber(cut up strips of zzmt tires).
Also working on some skids up front so i can play in the snow.

those tank treads are a kind of rubber, should be grippy enough.
